Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10521Mar 04, 2018 3:29 pm Hi, Our house is having internal paint start this week and the electrical fitout is booked for next Tuesday, SS is telling me to rely on “contract end date” if I want to rely on a finishing date... my Contract date is 10 May!!!! Does this sound right?? Why would it take 10 weeks to finish from here and shouldn’t he provide a PCI date? So over Coral homes.... never again!!!! Thanks Nicolle Coral Homes general build thread 10522Mar 04, 2018 3:34 pm Nicolle Hi, Our house is having internal paint start this week and the electrical fitout is booked for next Tuesday, SS is telling me to rely on “contract end date” if I want to rely on a finishing date... my Contract date is 10 May!!!! Good question. I didnt even think of that. I wonder if they'll allow us to put the wardrobes in before the carpet No they won’t, you can only do it after handover I’m just thinking since our wardrobe is exactly 3.5m long and the ikea pax and is exactly that.. I don’t really have room for skirting Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10525Mar 04, 2018 4:27 pm Didnt even think of removing skirting :O Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10526Mar 04, 2018 4:29 pm Caydenn Didnt even think of removing skirting :O I know right! I only just thought of it now, it should be easy to remove if needed to fit the wardrobe surely Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10527Mar 04, 2018 4:31 pm StephLee Caydenn Didnt even think of removing skirting :O I know right! How deep is your wardrobe space, ours is 60cm and the wardrobes are 55cm I believe Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10529Mar 04, 2018 4:39 pm Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10530Mar 04, 2018 4:46 pm Thanks! I think he is just relying on our completion date at 210 days that is listed in contract. (We were given this date at the time of commencement of build) I am just confused as to why it would take so long to complete from here 🤷♀️ And why he wouldnt bring the PCI date forward? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10531Mar 04, 2018 7:37 pm Sad to hear another person is over coral Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10532Mar 04, 2018 8:32 pm xjanex Nicolle Hi, Our house is having internal paint start this week and the electrical fitout is booked for next Tuesday, SS is telling me to rely on “contract end date” if I want to rely on a finishing date... my Contract date is 10 May!!!! Thanks Nicolle Check your contract clause 2.9 xjanex you obviously got a letter? I missed this clause completely (was more concerned about rain days ) I just worked out the 210 days but we’ve never been given an actual date?!?! Nicolle are you NSW? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10533Mar 04, 2018 9:06 pm No offence but I think your lucky if you have your house built within contract we are about 11 weeks over contract. It's even more frustrating. They will delay it though if they are still within contract unfortunately it's annoying because they know there is nothing that anyone can do about it as they still have time. What contract days were you given? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10535Mar 04, 2018 9:14 pm Ryan2007 Ok sorry I just saw your post regarding your days they certainly added ample time in your contract tho 30 weeks is a lot of time what size house are you building? We have same days as Nicolle 210days for single story our SC laughed when I questioned this & said if Coral took that long to build they’d be out of business was a bit of a laughing joke on here for the NSW builds ... we aren’t over contract yet but def feel like the stalling has begun 🤞 I’m wrong Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10536Mar 04, 2018 9:34 pm Our contract is only 160 days. Why on earth are your contracts so much longer? What contract days were you given? Are you getting paid $50 per day now? I hope you guys get in soon Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10538Mar 05, 2018 12:44 pm Is Coral Homes required to change all locks for handover? Worried about how many people have keys to our home and making sure we are the only ones with keys. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10540Mar 05, 2018 2:22 pm Yes I am in NSW. We are building Noosa 23. SS initially told me we would get the PCI date the first day the painters started and usually completion is about 3 weeks from then.. just curious as to why he wouldn’t have a PCI date in mind considering painters are now on site You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14020 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13717 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1647 |
