Start date of 18th Just realised it is less than 2 weeks away!! Yay! Obviously paid deposit of 15k and done all our appointments, had countless dramas and now being told that date is just a guideline and our cso is applying for a start date - WTF GRRRRR not happy Was it an actual start date? Ours is worded as "tentative start date" or something like that. I got a tentative start date in my contract for something like may 2016( this was in Feb 2016), but my actual start date was 14th April 2016, when I got my commencement letter after all the approvals. I received the letter last week of March. Coral Homes Avoca 25 in Gainsborough Greens Gold Coast Viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81406 [/quote] This was a bit of a weird one. After the final approval from construction team, it was only like a day I think that my cso advised me over email that they approved. This was like right before the Easter Long weekend. Then on Thursday afternoon after I left work, she tried to call me but I was driving so I didn't answer my phone but she left a voicemail. The message was that she already had a start date and to call her back. I tried to call her as soon as I got home and heard the message but she didn't answer. So I already had a start date but didn't know what it was! I painstakingly had to wait the long Easter weekend before I could talk to her again and she verbally gave me the date on the tuesday after long weekend, but I officially got it in the commencement letter on the Thursday when it was emailed to me. So in my experience it was only a day before they issued a start date. We were always under the impression and told by our Coral sales person it was 1m - now they are saying we need to lose a metre off your media room to fit the house plan Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8329Apr 05, 2017 8:19 pm StephLee Has anyone else been told by Coral Head Office that they cannot build closer than 1.5m to a retaining wall? We were always under the impression and told by our Coral sales person it was 1m - now they are saying we need to lose a metre off your media room to fit the house plan Based on our site plan coral required retaining walls on both sides, both of which would have been (and the one that actually for built is) waaaaay closer than that to the house. The unfortunate thing about dealing with coral homes and particularly drafting, is that they are entirely incompetent. A lot of my issues started with them. I must admit whenever I see a new name posting on this thread my heart breaks a little. I hope you have a good build and wish you luck but would also recommend if you're still in the early stages of looking at different builders, consider all of your options!! Coral = nightmare. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14180 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4376 |
