Ours are being laid this week, if there is any slab exposed I will not be happy. Carpet Court are doing installation not Coral. I would not accept that at all, imagine the dirt etc. that will get stuck in the gaps? Why do they bother doing measurements if this is what they end up doing. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10587Mar 12, 2018 7:30 pm Anyone with dark rooms please help... Our theatre room looks terrbile around all of the cornices and architraves. Youi can see the thick paint from a brush vs the roller? Some photos of the issues we are having that Coral is trying to state is "unavoidable" with dark paint.... Doesn't seem to meet standards in my opinion? How frustrating for yo. Stick to your guns and tell them the Standards and Tolerances don’t provide exemption from brush strokes for dark paint so to fix it. I was told almost every step of the way that every bit of poor quality workmanship was ‘to Coral’s standard’! I often questioned why coral had their own separate lower standard. The law certainly doesn’t provide any allowance for a builder to have a lower standard. Same here 'Coral standard' and ' 'learn to live with it!!!! ARGH!!! Thanks everyone, we have handover on Friday and I will be letting them know the list of Defects that are not up to standard.... Our brickwork stains and Mortar mess is pretty bad by my standards... The painter has removed stickers and not done work, he has also used patching to repair scratches which is so much more noticeable now because the texture is completely different... Got a battle ahead of us it seems Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10599Mar 13, 2018 8:53 am Paintwork seems to be the thing that everyone has a problem with (all builders). To me, it sounds like the builders don't pay the painters enough money or they don't give them enough time and they have to rush. It would be so much easier and cheaper if it was done right the first time. Especially when you are spending so much money. It's just reallly disappointing the battle I have ahead of me now I can see they want to push back on the brickwork issues and the paintwork is going to cause headaches. We have to take handover this Friday as we have so many things booked for delivery etc. we can't really reschedule You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14106 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13773 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4348 |
