Few things to fix here and there so if it goes to plan we should get the keys on the 5th but I think it will be more like the 12th. That's ok as I'm happy with finally getting a date! Now it's just waiting for everything to be neatened up ready for you to get keys.Exciting times! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4883Jul 29, 2016 3:26 pm MrsJM Kizmo Six ss, wow I had four n I thought that was ridiculous, so many don't wanna stay with the company, yeah we got a cheque for liquidated damages, they do their little calculations of days they reckon- so they take off holidays, rain days or woteva they claim, it's no where near what they should pay, I was told by trades that some other builders pay the client a lump sum n then days also, not coral, what we got for approx 11 weeks over didn't even cover 2 weeks rent. Anyway, after another rant of what hopefully others will read n think twice before signing with coral ........ I'm glad u r happy with ur finish- we had same issue with bath hob n they ripped up tiles but ours weren't discontinued tho, wot a pain, I hope they give u answers tomorrow. So did they hit you up for rain days at the end without having notified you throughout the course of the build? Seriously if they think they are gonna get away with that they have another thing coming! C U S T O M. C O R A L. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 Hi MrsJM, they tried to hit up for rain n , I forget how they worded it but it was for them trying to blame me for someone else having a machine on my block - apparently it was in the way, others were building around us n I later found out that it wasn't right on my block at the time corals machine showed up, they told me they drove straight past the street cause next door was building and had a truck there in the way, they said they couldn't get down the street. So for obvious reasons I sent a letter saying I didn't agree with any of those, they still mentioned it later to which I reminded them I did not agree with straight away so it was OK in the end, they did claim 3 days near the end, the roof was on mind u, but apparently they couldn't put on the eaves in the rain- funny that they were putting up other people last eaves on those rain days huh. We got s****** with the "Christmas shutdown period" that's where they ended up claiming all That time. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4884Jul 29, 2016 6:55 pm Does anyone know what to do if you need an emergency plumber and the SS and state manager don't respond? There's been a pipe upstairs spewing water all day. The neighbours only realised after the brickies left that it wasn't something they were doing.... It's a busted internal pipe. It's absolutely saturating all the internal timber and fibre cement sheeting in the ensuite. I turned water off at the mains but as soon as the brickies are back and turn on water tomorrow, it's gonna go all day again C U S T O M. C O R A L. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4886Jul 31, 2016 1:40 pm Hi all. Just after some info from those who have had rectified tiles done through Coral. Would love to know what the tile gap was with yours. My understanding is that rectified tiles should have 2mm gaps to provide the look normally associated with them. Is this correct? Our thread: viewtopic.php?t=82814 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4888Jul 31, 2016 9:50 pm NicMac03 Has anyone had a BAL 12.5 and what cost did it add to your build? Who did the bushfire assessment for you? Thanks Around $5000 and was done by the developer Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4889Aug 01, 2016 8:26 am Becs Coral MrsJM Does anyone know what to do if you need an emergency plumber and the SS and state manager don't respond? He said he would have it fixed this week. I just turned the water off at the mains until then. I don't know how it happened, and it scares me a bit because we would have been stuffed if we have of had gyprock- the pipe in the corner of the alresco roof that feeds down from the ensuite busted, and water was smashing out of it. I don't know how or why that happened. On a related note.... our water meter has 'disappeared'. It was there until a plumber had to be called several weeks ago when the brickies first started, and now all we have is a tap connecting to a pipe. Sydney Water sent me a letter and said I would be fined $2,500 for not having a meter installed during construction. Can anyone shed any light on this? Hubby wondered if there is something in the electrical box now that is the water meter. Forgot to look yesterday. That would be asking for trouble (if there was any flow of water there to measure, lol) Maybe your meter has been stolen?? Surely your SS will sort this out for you. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4891Aug 02, 2016 7:41 am Oldies Mrs JM, I doubt that anyone would put a water meter into an electrical box! Although nothing would surprise me these days! I wasn't sure whether these things were of any value or why anyone would bother removing or pinching it...although I have heard so,e stories about odd things being flogged off building sites. I've had them throwing rubbish over the neighbors fence as well which went down really well with the neighbors. Who did the bushfire assessment for you? Thanks We have been quoted $7500, we think we might be in a bush fire zone so added it in to get a price. Not sure who we will get to do the assessment when the time comes but I have heard you can do it yourself as well Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4899Aug 02, 2016 2:14 pm Our Piers were dug and poured yesterday and first thing this morning the plumbers arrived to start and they are almost done ?? slab goes down next week I can't wait to see the shape of the house of the block! Exciting times, Denym! Congratulations on your start. Full steam ahead. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14115 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13774 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4350 |
