Anyone looking at this thread who is thinking of building with Coral homes- please don’t chance it. I’ve said many times all builds have their issues, but to me what’s important is how the issues are dealt with. When you have senior levels of management doing nothing, and others suggesting you as a 29 year old female climb two storeys of scaffold to spray paint things that were supplied in the wrong colour- you really have to question who it is you’re building with. Not only that but they can’t even hack negative social media attention! I’ve been block from Facebook and comments deleted from Instagram. If you carefully look at their Facebook comments you will see where they have deleted negative customer posts, but replies have not been deleted. Coral homes is an absolute joke and it’s only a matter of time before you see them plastered all over A Current Affair. Rubbish quality workmanship, long build times, incompetent idiots drafting plans and pricing contracts, and useless site supervisors who leave the quality control to their clients. I'm hearing you Lovely...I'm hearing you! Coral build- Modified Bronte 42 - We're in!!! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82234&p=1513775&hilit=coral+modified+bronte#p1513775 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10424Feb 09, 2018 5:35 am Yes I totally agree plans for us were approved today last year and we are still not in. Lucky us we have the privilege to live in s caravan because they were so slow and were unable to build our house in time even though they assured us they would. I honestly regret spending any money with this company and wish that I could turn back the clock. We have 2 kids also that we have to squish in this tiny space and it's not fair when we should be in our home. Our site supervisor has over overlooked every variation therefore some major stuff ups. Take your money else where please save yourselves the heart ache and disappointment!!! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10425Feb 09, 2018 4:43 pm Hi all, just had a question about variations. I assumed that the selections you make after signing the contract for colours, tiling and electrical, would not incur a variation fee on top of the added costs as you are not able/ allowed to make those selections prior to signing the contract. Is that correct that you pay for the actual costs of variations eg. tile upgrades and shower upgrades, not an admin or variation fee for each? Coral Homes Avoca 20, Providence, Ripley QLD Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10427Feb 09, 2018 4:48 pm Ryan2007 It's classed as a variation but at no cost it's only when you get to site and decide to change something then this will be an onsite variation and will cost you accordingly. Coral Homes Avoca 20, Providence, Ripley QLD Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10429Feb 10, 2018 1:19 pm Anyone else who has built or building a Day Dream 28 or 30 with Coral come across the issue with the front door opening up and hitting the garage door (see photo)? Clearly you can get a door stopper or hook like stopper but just wanted to see what anyone else has done. But we changed it open the other way. You would think the builders would have automatically changed this knowing the garage door was there Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10431Feb 10, 2018 3:09 pm OurDayDream28 Anyone else who has built or building a Day Dream 28 or 30 with Coral come across the issue with the front door opening up and hitting the garage door (see photo)? You can definitely get door stoppers. On another note what colour is that door stained? Absolutely gorgeous! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10438Feb 12, 2018 9:37 pm MrsJM bestspecials Question - who has moved in and went for clear glass on the front door and would you recommend it. In 2 minds about going clear or opaque. I did clear with a side light- and I hate it. Passers by can see right through the common walkway right through the the longe room. And unfortunately my lounge is positioned right in eyeshot. Our floorplan has you looking straight down the hallway into the kitchen, so I think I will go with my gut and get the opaque. Still let light in, but not eyes. Mrs JM, have you thought about getting the stick on tinting. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10439Feb 13, 2018 7:46 am We got clear but the hallway just looks through to a sitting room. Probably the most redundant room of the house. Planning on eventually getting a decorative screen gate at the entrance so that will obscure the view also. Our current house has opaque. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10440Feb 13, 2018 9:05 am Just some advice about the front windows and going clear vs frosted etc. You can always put a frosting vinyl sheet over the glass that will look exactly like frosted glass and that way if you don't like it, you can remove it and go back to clear. But if you go frosted you can never go back to clear, just my advice though . See the below link for an example: https://www.ebay.com.au/i/263279755519? ... 2284871064 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14122 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4357 |
