You're very patient to have not completely lost it by now. Oh how I love the banks! We got an email on Friday from the Certifier saying they were ready to go ahead with the neighbour notification. Moving ahead nicely Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 64Dec 15, 2014 6:09 pm A few more colours to share. Humans are strange creatures. lol Check out our build - Daydream 30 at Logan Village - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73302 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 70Dec 18, 2014 11:01 am I will admit, i ran out of steam before building started. As a result i haven't been overly excited from the build. It is nice that the house will be done and it should be good, but until moving in day comes around, i think i will remain on my level of 'meh'. It get's to you, the stress of doing paperwork, chasing banks and the builder, trying to make sure the build goes smoothly and visiting the site often to make sure things are being done well. When i first considered building i was over the moon excited, walking through display houses and so forth. Now i will be happy that it is done. My Noosa 23 Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72782 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 71Dec 18, 2014 8:19 pm Yeah we were getting to that point with the major stuff ups we had with lenders. But then construction started and we get excited now Re: Coral Homes general build thread 72Dec 18, 2014 8:20 pm They started laying the bricks today and have nearly done half the house :/ Also got off-White mortar instead of natural for free Re: Coral Homes general build thread 73Dec 18, 2014 10:54 pm whzzz28 I will admit, i ran out of steam before building started. I had moments like that through the earlier processes too Whzzz, but I tried to not let it get to me greatly. Thanks in part to this forum, which has offered great advice on the length of time certain things take. And also I saw every week extra as another week of savings (as we are lucky enough to be with family during the build process). The excitement levels did peak again on site start date but we shall see how things go for the remaining months What has bothered me the most I guess is the gypsy lifestyle we have at the moment where nothing has a 'home' at present! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 74Dec 19, 2014 7:37 am Hi guys, so we are building the bronte 38 at Heritage Parc rutherford nsw. Due to the xmas hols and everyone taking their time we won't get our start date until the 5th jan. Looking to be at about end of jan tho Re: Coral Homes general build thread 75Dec 19, 2014 12:42 pm Hi all, We have purchased a block in South Quarter Loganlea and were (impatiently) waiting for the contract to be signed by the director (which took 12 days) before signing with Coral and paying deposit for soil tests etc. I was all geared up to try and get the site checks done before Xmas and got onto everyone fast, but that delay has set us back as everyone winds down now for Xmas. At this point we have settled on the Bribie30 for the site, but if we have unforseen site cost blowout we may go back to the Santorini series to save a little $$.. we really like the larger outdoor living and storage in the Bribie though, so hopefully we can stick with it. On the upside I have contracts coming out of my ears! We had 2 houses to sell.. one is under contract and the other should go under contract in a couple of hours today... yay! That was my biggest worry at this stage progressing with the land and build and still having a house for sale hanging over our head. whzzz28 I will admit, i ran out of steam before building started. I am very worried about this ^^ I am handling everything as DH just goes along with it and I work from home so am better placed to make calls, email etc. My little brain is overflowing with numbers and names and little details. We have some holidays coming up over New Year and January though and I'm hoping all the contracts happen smoothly and I can come back at the build feeling refreshed and ready to go. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 76Dec 19, 2014 9:05 pm Finnsmamma We have purchased a block in South Quarter Loganlea I don't know if you know the area well or not, but that's been a large parcel of undeveloped land for many years, and has virtually what is a tidal pool/lake on the northern boundary, and on the south side of it a lot of water flows under Loganlea Road when we get a dumping of rain. Enjoy your build, it's going to be interesting for you. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Blog : http://bandlnewhomebuild.blogspot.com H1 thread : viewtopic.php?f=38&t=68283 . We live across the highway now and have a house in Bethania on the other side of the river as well that we lived in for a few years (we rent it out now). DH and I went to school nearby and drive down loganlea road daily. They have built the estate up quite high and we have disclosure maps. We will be higher than the homes in the adjacent streets and the horse stables and homes behind. I'm pretty happy with what they have done and the improvements they have made to allow a catchement and stormwater area to the southern side also. You know flooding well Re: Coral Homes general build thread 79Dec 21, 2014 11:53 pm Yes, they've done a good job there with the housing levels, and as you said much higher than many houses in the area too. Yeah, that's the one. We sold it in 2013 and are building over in Jimboomba now. The dear old council decided that our old block didn't have enough of it covered with their 'blue dots', with just 25% covered then, and now it is well over 70% marked as flood affected! .... Water even in 2013 never got anywhere near the place, so extending the flood mapping was even more of a joke. As you know the front of the block was where the Ooah creek joined together from north and south, and whilst the road flooded in front, the rest of the block was only wet from the rain and the creek running through. The new development where the chook farm was is going in fast! I'm amazed every time we head out there to visit the in-laws. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14020 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13718 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1660 |
