Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 41Dec 10, 2014 9:40 pm We are building the Noosa 20 at Stonecutters Ridge. Just waiting on our contract to be finalised. We had to send it back for modifications because they had missed it in our original discussions. Overall we are pretty happy with how things are working out. We really wanted the larger Noosa 23 but just couldn't make it fit on our tiny block. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 42Dec 11, 2014 8:09 am Awesome, I'll head over and have a look We booked our electrical appointment yesterday. The earliest we could get in? January 22!?!?! Geez! I hope this won't slow things down. At least it gave us a chance to go over the plans and really work out what we wanted re electrical. Didn't stop us spending a small fortune, but did help the meeting flow smoothly. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 44Dec 11, 2014 10:00 am Hi all, starting to get the hang of posting pics now. I'm keen to do this as well. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 46Dec 11, 2014 10:34 am Hi Manderinne, It was $18 for the kitchen mixer upgrade. $156 for the Quatro basin mixer upgrades to bathroom, powder and ensuite(x2). $46 for Quatro wall mixer and hob spout for bath. Hope this helps. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 47Dec 11, 2014 2:22 pm Hey s_mack, do you mind me asking how much it cost to upgrade the bottom cupboards to drawers? Thinking of my tupperware... Yay!! It's taken 4.5 weeks since council approval. Basically the bank stuffed up - a quote was included in the valuation that shouldn't have been resulting in the figures being wrong. Rather than over ride the relatively small error ($5k) they ordered a new valuation, which of course came back different which then required new documents to be issued by the bank. Anyway, it's all done now. Hoping we will be issued with our start date tomorrow! Particularly love those black hexagon tiles! They're gorgeous! We have gone for a hexagon tile for a feature wall in our main bathroom. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 52Dec 11, 2014 5:13 pm Mellywil Awesome, I'll head over and have a look We booked our electrical appointment yesterday. The earliest we could get in? January 22!?!?! Geez! I hope this won't slow things down. I guess they must shut down over Christmas & New Year too? We managed to get ours on the same day as colours as it's a 4.5 hour drive each way and we had to wait about 4 weeks as that was the earliest we could get. On the plus side you have plenty of time to do your research and plan what you want. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 53Dec 11, 2014 5:20 pm Hi. We are building the Noosa 20 at Stonecutters Ridge, Western Sydney. We are currently waiting for our contract to be finalised. We've had to send it back because they missed one of the changes we had requested. Looking forward to joining in these discussions. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 54Dec 11, 2014 5:20 pm Great news daydream_build. They were super quick issuing our start date once the ACC came back. Though I gotta tell you since we received our start date, it has been the longest fortnight of my life!!!! Only 5 days to go now Yep. I was drawn to the hex tiles the moment I saw them but discounted them as they are rectified porcelain and I was trying to be good with the budget. The lovely girl at Beaumont convinced us it doesn't hurt just to see how it would price up - and in the end it was more reasonable than I thought it would be. We didn't carry the same tile through to the butlers pantry as that area will never be seen really and I can find far better uses for that money. So we went for a standard tile splashback there. What hex tile did you find for your bathroom? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 55Dec 11, 2014 5:37 pm Our start date will not been until January : ( Had we not had all the delays we should have had our slab down before Christmas. Oh well! Things happen for a reason! We got hit with an unexpected extra $3175 variation to raise the pad to meet minimum flood level requirements. So the delayed start means we get a few more pays in the bank before we have to pay for it! We chose the Carrara Bianco hexagon mosaic tiles Fell in love with them on The Block this year! Also using the same stone but penny rounds in the ensuite (also featured on The Block!) Re: Coral Homes general build thread 56Dec 11, 2014 6:13 pm We would have liked slab before Christmas but might have to make do with the site scrape and retaining walls. We were lucky enough that we escaped any flood level requirements but we were instead hit with bushfire requirements. A nice $7k hit to the budget. We have been lucky however that our land registration was delayed by 5 months so that have plenty of extra saving time. Great choice on the tiles too - like us I bet you can't wait to see them go in! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 57Dec 12, 2014 7:49 pm Our ACC was finally issued yesterday. Our build will start on 12th January. So excited! It's getting close! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 59Dec 13, 2014 2:32 pm Congrats daydream at least this way u shouldn't have too many public holidays and shut down periods right after starting the build :p We now have gutters and cavity slider frames installed and our bathroom window frame has been fixed but more in my thread oh and our roof tiles have been delivered as well so I think they will install them before Xmas because I don't think they would leave them sitting there over Xmas. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 60Dec 14, 2014 9:47 am s_mack Great news. Congratulations daydream_build Thanks! What appliances did you end up getting? You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14120 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13775 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4352 |
