Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8683Jun 13, 2017 9:59 pm dougang287 You made the right choice with the tiles - if you accepted it then you would hate them every single day. What date did they start building Thanks yeah that's what I thought, they might have been okay but what if they weren't? We were cut on feb 16 so coming up to 17 weeks now. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85653&p=1642230#p1642230 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8684Jun 13, 2017 11:01 pm Tamara1975 Does anyone have the prices for data cabling and also for the NBN set up? Also, how many data points did everyone get? We had the data people call us today (finally) and we went over the plan and worked out we want 6 data points lol Tam I want these answers also lol... Coral do the nbn box and string but NBN will charge to run the optic cable which is not cheap. I registered with nbn today to hook me up as it takes 4 weeks plus them the provider will take 2 weeks thats 6 weeks and i cant wait until we are in. We run home based businesses and we need the Internet from day 1!! I only did 1 data point dont see why you would want more when we have wifi?? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8685Jun 14, 2017 5:11 am bribiebell fec88 Hi all, Just needing some advice on Electrical. We are wanting a few pendant lights, did you just keep the batten holders for the location of where the pendant lights are going? Also did any of you have any luck with getting the sparky to do a cash job for you while do the basic for Coral? If so did it work out heaps cheaper than paying Coral? Thanks Fec88 do stick lights with clipsal just the min 1 to each room and place what ever else coral are including. When you meet with your electrician for the first time they will go over the plan and add the extra for you. For example clipsal charged me $98 per down and my elec $55 per down. We were dumb and scared our elec would not do the extra work...trust me they are more then happy to have more work from you..so we did all with clipsal which cost $7k on top of coral inclusions so 12k in total plus we added a few things with elec which resulted in another 1k during rough in. I did put stick light where my downs were going and the elec charged $25 per pendant to install......so to recap i wish we did the very min with clipsal and did not spend anything extra with them only what coral included and completed the rest during our build (we are at lock up just now) Bribiebell - thank you very much for the reply! I definitely think I'm just going to do a few extras with Clipsal and then ask the sparky to do the rest for us as that will save loads of money on electrical. Was the $55 per down light including the light too or did you still have to buy the down light for installation? Good luck on the final stages of your home!!!!! We are on NBN in our rental and it is heaps faster plugged straight into the port. There are parts of our house where the wireless doesn't reach to well and our new house will be a lot bigger than our rental. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8690Jun 14, 2017 11:11 am Definitely talk to the tiler.. Our SS would not let us, whuch is the only reason Coral agreed to redo ours. Just tell them that you want the grout lines in the main flooring to line up with the grout lines in the wet rooms. Im not sure of the technical term but if i had my turn again id definitely be taking the pictures with you so they can see exactly what you mean. Keep in mind they are not able to line them up if they are different tiles, so would be better to ask for them completely offset. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8691Jun 14, 2017 11:31 am Ryalls_first_build Definitely talk to the tiler.. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8692Jun 14, 2017 11:35 am I have my clipsal appointment on Friday and I'm a little confused. If we want our own electrician or the sparky on site to supply the downlights, do we still need to get clipsal to supply the fittings for them and we just supply our own lights? Or do we just get our sparky to do the whole lot? Do you just need one batten per room? Sorry, but I'm only just trying to work this all out! Tell clipsal when your doing your appointment that instead of batterns can they just put a 413qc in the areas where you plan to put a downlight. Or just put a battern where you plan to on the drawings and when you speak with the electrician say you just want a 413 instead of the battern as you are doing downlights after handover. We got the plantation facade and came with a feature brick included. We are having black bricks with white as a feature then the gables, garage door and front door will be stained timber. Can't wait to see what it looks like. Most of our house will be black (with monument roof) but we will plant a lot of lush green plants around it Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8697Jun 14, 2017 12:01 pm Tamara1975 Does anyone have the prices for data cabling and also for the NBN set up? NBN was included in package just the box & setup not connection but I thought I remember someone saying it was around $700-$900 ?!?! Could be totally wrong on this though. We did data cabling to it hub and all rooms having TVs inc our room. Would've liked to have done other bedrooms too but was getting $$$ Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8698Jun 14, 2017 12:04 pm StephLee Tamara1975 It was one of those things I really wanted so I didn't mind paying that amount I gues sit all comes down to the image you are looking for. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8699Jun 14, 2017 12:06 pm Caydenn That looks so good?! Is that a standard designer facade or an upgrade option? Thank you! It is the Mornington Facade on the Manhattan 23 which was the cheapest I believe and included in our pricing - I have just edited all the colours, added the colourbond roof and changed the door. This shouldn't cost us anything because I have gone with colours and bricks that are standard but we havn't done our colour appointment yet! The noosa 23 we are building has a very similar roofing style but comes with no render etc like yours does. We are going to get our rendered and feature tiled privately though as the cost saving was huge vs getting coral to do it . You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14078 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13746 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 |
