Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 11561Jun 25, 2021 9:23 am HI, i am currently building with Coral homes, Pallara, Brisbane. super disappointed . i have been in the building industry for 27 years never seen such bad communication. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 11562Jun 25, 2021 10:43 am Unfortunately, I would highly recommend your own private inspector. Building with coral this second time round was my first mistake and the second was getting talked out of inspector. Managed to get a few issues resolved but had to email frame/truss manufacturer, coral has never moved so fast. Hadn’t been wanting to post the second builds progress because it’s been so crap through the process, if I get time I might (spoiler alert - the interior was a water feature…) and still not finished have to check dates started end sept at least 4weeks away. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 11564Jan 12, 2022 8:05 am Hi all, My partner and I are considering building with Coral (Lisbon 31 MKII) and are wondering what their rules are around owner-supplying things like taps etc? I can't seem to find any info on their website about it. They have great value inclusions but I can be a little picky. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 11565Jan 12, 2022 10:05 am Hi There, this is not going to be much help but the simplest thing is just ask them. We built with Coral a few years ago. At the time they were very accommodating: we sourced our own ducted AC, insulation for walls and floors, and other bits and pieces. I have heard from others that they may have tightened things up. You may also be able to source the things you would like through Coral as they may be able to get some items at a better price. Just don't expect big savings/reimbursements from the builder if you do decide to out-source the items yourself. Good luck! I can't seem to find any info on their website about it. They have great value inclusions but I can be a little picky. We built in 2009 and did a few things ourselves. All the electrical work from the pole to the plug and security wiring, as well as distributed audio and visual cabling. I think you should ask them personally about things you want to do. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 11567Apr 03, 2022 8:20 am Hi everyone, I’m considering building with coral homes. However, they only provide 6 years structural guarantee. Whereas few others are proving lifetime guarantee these days. Does anyone had any structural issues with houses built with coral homes? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 11568Apr 03, 2022 6:26 pm Hi There That's strange because we built a Coral (moved in 2017) and our house came with Lifetime structural guarantee. Things may have changed. . If you could please provide some pictures, that would be amazing. My covenent has some rules and I'd like to check if the default Rochester is okay to build without additional cladding/rendering. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14555 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14918 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 5026 |
