Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9741Sep 20, 2017 12:20 pm Does anyone know the cost to upgrade the ensuite sink to a medium/large size one? Coral is providing us with 2 small sinks in our plan for ensuite, but I was thinking of removing 2 small sinks and upgrading it to 1 medium/large size sink. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9742Sep 20, 2017 3:42 pm Hey everyone! Update on the sink situation, Coral has got in touch and done the drawings and realised that we were in fact correct and the tap will not work in its current setup. They have offered for us to change with no V/O admin fee. We are looking at getting the Reece AFA Vertus. https://www.reece.com.au/bathrooms/prod ... nk-9501816 Good result, just waiting for the quote from Coral as they don't usually stock the AFA vertus. I have that sink (single) in my laundry and I wouldn't recommend it. I hardly use it but even water beads stain it and I can't remove even with stainless steel cleaner. It also seems to scratch very easily. Sorry/ I don't mean to be a negative nelly. Has anyone received from Coral when building will stop over the Xmas period??? How long it will be for? I believe it's 18th December to 8th January? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9746Sep 21, 2017 11:00 am Hi everyone for those in Newie area did you choose who you connected electricity with during the build? Have just received email from AGL but wanted to chk if everyone shopped around ? TIA Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9747Sep 21, 2017 2:20 pm What is everyone's communication experience with Coral HO right now, particularly those from NSW? We have had only a single update on our DA from Coral and we signed off on the plans a month ago. Many questions unanswered particularly around whether it is CDC or council DA approval. I'm starting to get a little frustrated with our CSO. If they don't answer questions after 2 days I tend to just pick up the phone and ask what's going on. Seems like with Coral if you want results you have to stay on top of them. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9750Sep 21, 2017 2:24 pm How long after your slab went down did they start your frame? Ours went down Monday and we were told framing would start Wednesday. Went out today and no one on site, frame had been delivered Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9751Sep 21, 2017 2:38 pm H Family brodav83 What is everyone's communication experience with Coral HO right now, particularly those from NSW? I have called and left a number of messages, and quite a few emails. Its a shame because the rest of the process up to now has been really good. Tiles and electrical appointment went very well and the flow of paperwork behind the scenes is good. With so much development happening in Australia right now I get that they are a very busy team at HO. Maybe they need more staff. You sound like me on the phone to my CSO... everything with Coral is fantastic until you hit admin then it becomes a grind... Appointments are great because they are mostly run by external companies (clipsal, beaumont, national Tiles). The MyChoice is also great but once you hit HO it becomes really hard... If you don't mind me asking who is your CSO and what number do you use to contact them, have you tried contacting reception and getting them to put you through as opposed to your CSO's direct number? Our Sc was awesome, tiles awesome, electrical awesome, colours terrible, Admin - ridiculous we signed contracts in feb and were suppose to start May but the Admin process was a nightmare only now we have new date Nxt wk but so many delays errors etc we are NSW. Hoping build will not be same as admin. It's 12mths since we paid initial deposit, we made hardly any changes most variations (7) were their errors being fixed with a 2-3 wk turn around. Driveway slope took 6wks for them to work out. I did the application for them through council prior to 6wk delay so sorry to be negative but our exp wasn't the greatest, though I hear many builders are the same unfortunately Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9755Sep 21, 2017 2:57 pm Caydenn You sound like me on the phone to my CSO... everything with Coral is fantastic until you hit admin then it becomes a grind... I really don't want this to be going on for 12 more months!!! We have already overstayed our welcome at our in-laws due to complications with the land purchase. Have just received email from AGL but wanted to chk if everyone shopped around ? TIA We didn't have to choose gas or elect. We did have to fill in an online form with ecnsw for the gas meter to create an AGL account. Coral handled elec and water meters. I just started looking at comparisons, and none of the companies make it easy to compare. Currently just looking at AGL as the gas is already with them for convenience. Origin is my other choice atm. You can always change companies, as they are not allowed to lock you into contracts anymore. (having more difficulty with trying to organise insurance as half of the guys don't have our property address available) You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14099 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4343 |
