Although garage cavity slider is BAD! Is it from too much sun or not enough? I thought I remember reading it is also to do with oxygen which is why cavity sliders suffer more. If is was in your contract to use Aqua enamel I'd make them come back and repaint it....although that's a bum of a job. If your architraves are anything like mine you would probably be better off asking coral to credit you for product and to do it yourself. I just don't know what prep is required to put an acrylic paint over an oil based... C U S T O M. C O R A L. I keep my pantry door and media Room door closed when not in use and they're not (yet) yellow. Are you guys keeping them open or shut? And no aqua enamel used on mine Coral Homes Avoca 25 in Gainsborough Greens Gold Coast Viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81406 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7964Mar 12, 2017 9:19 pm The sliders usually shut and the toilet doors in the middle of the house so it won't get any sunlight it's in our contract to have Aqua enamel so I might have to raise it I did question it but was told it was just the light at the time but you can see a white strip down one side of the slider so it's clearly different Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7965Mar 13, 2017 5:32 am Pretty sure that we got told at our colour appointment last week they use Aqua enamel as we were actually wanting them to do it more glossy and got told no - aqua enamel. All i know is we wont be accpeting bad workmanship when its finished. And the great thing of this forumn is it reminds us what to look out for along the way. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7966Mar 13, 2017 8:08 am We used lexicon half in our last house and the cavity sliders yellowed. We were told this when we chose our colours so we were aware of the risk. The worst one was our pantry door which I don't think we ever opened in the 5 years we were there. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7968Mar 13, 2017 1:13 pm Our plan is with the certifier currently, so we have been doing electrical, colour, shopping for tiles etc. feeling a bit frustrated because we received our first variation and they have randomly added to it that owners are installing their own vanities!! What the! Why the hell would we be putting our own bathroom vanities in.. LOL anyway have not signed the variation cos clearly it's wrong but have emailed various people about it including variations reply email and CSO and am getting silent treatment. We apparently have five days to sign variation or it no longer applies and they go off a previous tender.. So confused. ? Just feeling dull about it. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7969Mar 13, 2017 1:20 pm Checked the paint cans this morning Dulux professional enamel was used instead of Aqua enamel so that's why it's going yellow Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7970Mar 13, 2017 1:55 pm Denym Checked the paint cans this morning Dulux professional enamel was used instead of Aqua enamel so that's why it's going yellow Does it have aqua enamel written in your contract? _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7971Mar 13, 2017 2:32 pm Essy85 Our plan is with the certifier currently, so we have been doing electrical, colour, shopping for tiles etc. feeling a bit frustrated because we received our first variation and they have randomly added to it that owners are installing their own vanities!! Defdaz fought them on this point and he had his skirting and doors repainted.... And from memory Aquaenamel wasn't even in his contract. You DO have it in your contract and they have obviously changed to Aquaenamel as standard for a reason. Don't let it go! C U S T O M. C O R A L. I knew it was something like that! Ill have to check our tins, but it makes sense.. the one that is yellowing is the cavity slider in the garage which is always in the cavity. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7976Mar 14, 2017 10:24 am Building in Logan council area and our activity window has been knocked back due to not enough natural light. Anyone else from same council had issues? Just told Coral that they have two daydreams on display in Logan with the same fricking window. This isn't our only problem either. Apparently the battens are over the building envelope so we either reposition or pay a $1600 fee to the council - all this the day before our wedding! I think most councils have similar requirements for light and ventilation. The minimum window size is based on the size of the room. The funny thing is if it's a second level, they then restrict your windows to how far they can open lol so not much ventilation happens!! Put it on the plans as a wardrobe instead of a bedroom lol. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14078 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13746 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 |
