Coral have came back and told me that this cannot be done anymore as it's a hazard and they dont want to take any liability basically. I also suggested that if they just do the concrete slab and I will have it tiled later but apparently the works wont be signed off? Is this true, is this a thing? Has anyone experienced something similar? It's disappointing that they have display homes built this way but dont offer it anymore. TIA! We are building the Grange 25. We extended the alfresco to the eaves (only .45m) but were looking originally at extending another 3 metres into the back yard. Because our soil classification is E, Coral won't do any external concrete past the eaves. I would say this is due to the piering we have for the rest of the house. My guess is coral is big on moisture/water on the slab as they use the waffle pod system. Your request to extend slab past eaves probably increases their risk. We have just handed over and our supervisor emphasised two major things to be aware of which is no water/moisture near the slab and termites. Your only option would be to do it yourself after handover. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10651Mar 21, 2018 7:04 am Ryan2007 So we have a meeting with state building manager on Friday regarding our build and all the problems we have had. Still no sign of PCI yet Oh that's great you have a meeting everything's crossed something gets sorted for you sooner rather than later... Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10654Mar 22, 2018 5:16 pm Ryan2007 We have PCI next Wednesday finally! Yaay that's great news everything is crossed again for you Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10655Mar 22, 2018 8:34 pm Must be the day for emailing PCI's we received an email ours is the 29th hopefully this all gets done in 4 days: bahaha Silicone everywhere (inside & out) paint skirting all main areas, paint touch ups, install oven, install kitchen tap, complete IT hub (need shelf and new bench), replace robe hooks and re-tile area, garage door, flyscreens, secure view doors, insulation roof complete, missed electrical points, finish data points, site clean, remove pile of dirt left after initial plumbing, remove lump of concrete where driveway is will let you know how we go seeing as though we've had minimal work in the last month Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10656Mar 22, 2018 10:17 pm Omg that seems like a lot to do fingers crossed they just get their arse into gear! We were so hoping to be in by Easter but again disappointed we know there's going to be things that have not been fixed everyone just ignores it and thinks the issue will go away. We have our building inspector coming through with us anyways. And tomorrow is our meeting with state building manager. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10658Mar 23, 2018 4:31 pm Sorry to ask again but does anyone building the grange with IT hub option have a picture of the IT bench? Our SS is telling us that what we have is as per the plan The plan obviously is from a birds eye view and shows the bench and shelf where the alcove is but you obviously can't see under the bench to see if bench wraps around. Ive posted a pic so you can see its not right. Have emailed HO with another grange pic which is clearly correct but would love another for backup if needed please TIA Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ SaveSave You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14120 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
