The current detectors required batten fix and the new ones are installed like down lights, flush with the ceiling, so obviously the battens will need to be removed to allow the new detectors to be installed flush. We've since been advised that these detectors havent even been approved in Australia nor are they available for install until they pass. This was a $1547.00 upgrade for 7 smoke alarms. We're still waiting for confirmation on whether we are entitled to a credit for them. There was a lack of ownership as to who would be responsible for plaster and paint touch ups if there was any damage during change over, or even when the change would occur. I upgraded one in the entry the rest were left. I will ask me electrician on Monday! I will be getting a refund and wouldn't let that slide at all! https://www.homeone.com.au/member/bribiebell Hey how did you go, did you remember to ask about the one in your entry way by any chance? We're still waiting on a definitive answer about ours. We were told 800 was standard with designer and 900 standard with elegance. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9255Jul 27, 2017 5:22 pm Afternoon all, Have received our contract this afternoon. How does the fixed price contract work? It states that the contract price may vary due to a number of reasons such as planning and building approvals, variations to the building works etc. How can they claim to provide fixed price contracts with this clause? It is contradictory. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9256Jul 27, 2017 7:30 pm brodav83 Afternoon all, Have received our contract this afternoon. How does the fixed price contract work? We have been told that due to the expanse of the gyprock there needs to be a controlled expansion joint covered by a moulding. Now I have photos of the Bronte 38 (has been sold), the Miami (in Sydney, I think that's not on display anymore either), the new Bahama 38 at Thornton and none have a moulding going around the perimeter of the void. We have been told by our Area Manager that we will be getting one because that is what the Gyprock guideline states. I've noticed that some of the new builds on here do not have it either. Can anyone give me some insight please? The only thing mentioned specifically in the paperwork that prevents a fixed price contract is the lack of a traffic management plan. However, we know that there are potential issues under the soil in terms of an underground stream or body of water that was discovered when the surveys were done. It says that a variation to the contract will be required if the builder needs to make adjustments due to the water below the surface. I guess I am confused by the terminology of a fixed price contract. It really isn't, is it? You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14099 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1800 |
