Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 6844Jan 15, 2017 1:33 pm shortnstumpy Milestone shortnstumpy Hi all quick question. At what stage does the Shirley bird get installed? I assumed it would be at the same time as the roof but our roof has been installed and no Shirley bird yet? Hahah damn autocorrect. Nope it's not on site and from what I can tell the roof is finished. Although the scaffold is still up so maybe it will be installed this week? scaffolding up is a good sign. could you see a tv aerial at all? if that's not installed then there's a good chance the whirly bird is still to come. Coral Homes Avoca 25 in Gainsborough Greens Gold Coast Viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81406 Yep- the tiny opening is as far as it goes. And the awning Windows- don't even get me started! They open upstairs about 7cm! They have for some reason put bolts through about 3 of the restrictors upstairs so I can't get them out even if I wanted to. It really is overkill. But still, that is 150% ridiculous, you'd think even with restrictions at least make it 50@ unopenable or 75%? I didnt even know upstairs windows had restrictors. When I get an answer from NAB I will let you know. Thanks that would be great. I'm sure someone else on here did it that way will try & remember who??? Which is why we didn't put a deposit down yesterday We got told this too, sc said the finance clause is void because they wont build your house without your bank issuing the capacity to pay paperwork anyway. We we're so worried about it and didnt sign our contract straight away but sc talked us into it and reduced our initial deposit to $5k so that there was "less risk" for us. He said the only thing they could do if you ended up not building with them was not refund all the deposit, if they had already used some of it for insurance, reports etc. I still don't fully understand it though[/quote] Thanks everyone Re: Coral Homes general build thread 6855Jan 15, 2017 10:39 pm scottwilkos1711 Denym scottwilkos1711 Looking to build on the Central Coast with Coral. When slab payment due, Coral got the balance of deposit then and I filled out another drawdown form and NAB paid back the deposit into our account. This only works if you borrow the entire contract. Hint: don't forget to leave money for variations, the final payment requested by Coral will have the variations in it, if you leave money in the loan you won't have to worry about paying the variations separately, we over estimated on our contract so had variation credit, only a couple of hundred but still lucky.
