Did any one do this and can tell me approx what the upgrade cost? We have the Noosa 29. Coral Homes general build thread 5270Sep 03, 2016 6:20 pm Check with their promotions we got the elegance and it was an extra $5000 I think to upgrade kitchen with 40mm waterfall plus heaps of extras we found it was worth it to get the polar silk finish cupboard/drawers. And splash back appliance upgrade, handless cupboards and drawers.... Firstly thank you for sharing your experience and a good review of the process. Its such a nice gesture for others to learn. As a result I thought I should share our experience too. We built the Noosa 28 but modified it too. The Good: 1. Floor to Ceiling tiles in bathrooms 2. Getting rid of Media room and making it bed 4. Made Master Bedroom and WIR much bigger. Love It 3. Doing our own electrical- The electrician was very accommodating and we put in a total of $65 down lights and fan points as well as networking the whole house. Paid him cash and procured ur own materials 4. Eve down lights- so class 5. Carpet in bedrooms and family room. 6. timber look tiles the rest of the whole house- did this separate and bought the tiles at a warehouse for 34/m2 7. Tower wth oven and microwave- don't have to bend down 8. Getting separate concreter for driveway- The guy is a pro. The Bad: 1. Supervisor the worst communicator- agrees to stuff but never follows through 2. Should have had the water fall on the kitchen island bench- should have paid extra 3. Should have though more about the kitchen design and gone for wider drawers- currently they not enough for my wife's forks and knives etc.. 4. Acoustics- Should have gone for solid core doors and sound batts esp in PDR. Can here the noises whilst on dining table. IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING THIS 5. Should have made garage wider- you don't realise how much space you need 6. Kitchen bin drawer- in process of rectifying this. 7. Should've made wardrobes floor to ceiling instead of having bulkhead. Overall Alice and I are 31 & 30 years of age and this is our first home and have a son and are satisfied with our house. The next one I surely will not make the mistakes above. Will put photos later Re: Coral Homes general build thread 5272Sep 03, 2016 8:51 pm Hi Taf, Thanks for the summary. I think we will have the same issue with the acoustics in powder room. We are building a newport. Will try to do something about it. Not sure if that will be possible at this stage. But definitely will try. Thanks again. I hope you enjoy your home and all the best for the next one. Based on your experience will you go with coral again? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 5274Sep 04, 2016 2:34 pm Does anyone remember how much it cost to upgrade the colour of the colourbond roof? We really like Monument colour but it isn't in the standard range Re: Coral Homes general build thread 5275Sep 04, 2016 2:57 pm shortnstumpy Does anyone remember how much it cost to upgrade the colour of the colourbond roof? We really like Monument colour but it isn't in the standard range Avoca 25 in Gainsborough Greens Gold Coast viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81406 It's in the ultra range which we were told is an upgrade Re: Coral Homes general build thread 5278Sep 04, 2016 4:12 pm Milestone Monument was standard for us only 1 month ago and I think from memory on our 302sqm home it was $3800 to $4000 We're are you building? We're building at Riverstone Crossing in QLD. I really hope it's standard. The lady at the colour place told us it was an upgrade but it was on a Saturday so fingers crossed she gave us the wrong information Re: Coral Homes general build thread 5279Sep 04, 2016 4:16 pm I think she must have, I have just got my colour variation costing on Friday and it's defiantly not upgraded. Did any one do this and can tell me approx what the upgrade cost? We have the Noosa 29. Our Noosa 26 waterfall with 20mm cost around $1100 so the 40mm would be more than that. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14497 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14847 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4924 |
