Just got notified by my ss that they have added 7 working days to my contract because of the retaining walls... How can they do this? Knowing the pr¡ck he is, he will use every single day! We got one of those, weeks after the retaining wall had been finished and our SS just said to ignore it. Because our build has been quick it hasn't been a problem. Do you think they will take the full contract time? We didnt even get a letter! We havent had any work done onsite for two weeks so i emailed for a progress report and also asked if we are still on track for the 24th november.. he wrote back and said the date had been changed due to the retaining walls! He was the one who stuff up by ordering too much fill meaning our landscaper had to move it all for him . And yes it will take the whole time.. knowing what a pr¡ck he is he will see to it Will this nightmare never end? Even the kids cried when i told them it would be a few days longer Did it take 7 days to build them? They added 5 to ours for retaining walls but I refused to except as it was BS. Fight it![/quote] Hey Ryalls, when were the walls done? We got a letter in may claiming an extension for the walls which were built in January. Our contract states the builder has 10 days from when they become aware of an issue to claim an extension. Check your contract. If the walls were finished more than 10 days before they notified you, then the claim is invalid. We've had all claims for extension removed on these grounds. Also, it has to be written notice within 10 days. If my builder was ahead and easy to get along with id just let it go but hes a pr!ck so bugger him. The walls were completed in May! They did go over by about 5 days but this was due to him ordering too much fill for the block and my landscaper having to move it for him etc I replied back to him and his boss saying exactly what you said that we hadn't been notified and would not accept and the rude buggers couldn't even reply.. That was last Wednesday so not sure if ill hear anything. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4913Aug 08, 2016 8:14 am I feel for you, Ryalls. I directed our objection straight to our cso and she had it reviewed. They agreed that the extension was outside the contract terms and removed it. Stuff like that is not usually worth taking to the SS as their default reaction is inaction. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4914Aug 08, 2016 8:40 am michaelandkaty I feel for you, Ryalls. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4358 |
