I ended up getting a letter from Coral - a certificate of completion that the bank would take as proof that the house was finished to release payment. Otherwise I'd be living in an institution by now. Our solar panels are still not turned on/connected to the grid either. If any of you are getting solar power, start asking about the connection now. But u kno what gets me though, is that we wouldn't be havin these problems if coral hadve finished our house when they said they were going to! I gotta post this reply in parts cause I've tried to do it like 3 times n it keeps disappearing- I hope it's not showing up n I just can't find it- sorry if it is! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 2850Dec 22, 2015 1:02 am It's def painful trying to get info outa them isn't it- I just wanna c the house , it's not hard, but apparently their jst so busy, busy doin wot, I know it's not busy building houses around here lol. The saga wth the neighbours- it's a long story, I'll make it brief, hope it still makes sense, one of neighbours complained to coral bout trades Parking in their way- since then we havnt seen much of them ( n we used to talk quite a bit) hopefully that changes when we get there, n the other neighbour put up a fence, obviously there's no problem wth someone putting up a fence but coral organised it wth them apparently when they called coral to move construction fence, I told the fencer to Bill coral then if they were happy to organise it, since we hadn't even agreed on style, colour, n we didn't get a quote so we don't even kno how much it is- the fence guy wanted my address to bill me but I said we'll look at it when we move in, I think there's a bit of tension cause the neighbour knows the fencer, but wot do u do Re: Coral Homes general build thread 2851Dec 22, 2015 1:17 am Your not havin much luck either r u Murray, wot b***** their putting u through- I'd Giv coral n bank call n try wot melly said cause most people don't even get oc cause I'm pretty sure u don't need it unless u sell or rent it out, if u get away wth it get it as soon as tho cause u don't wanna chase coral for it down the track. I hope I havnt freaked out anyone wth all the drama, especially u guys that have already gone through the ringer and/or signed, some people are lucky but it seems like nsw is getin a bit tough to deal wth atm, I think it's good tho for everyone to just be aware of what to look for. N I wanna thank melly for lots of info- I've been reading here for a while before I started posting n I've found stuff u said helpful- like the ventilator, n now the solar panels, I'll b asking that one now ? Yay more questions for coral, I jst love bein passed to 3 diff people n getin the 'I don't know ' answer - maybe I'll wait til after Chrissy lol Re: Coral Homes general build thread 2852Dec 22, 2015 6:15 am I am glad you find my thread useful Kizmo For those struggling at the moment, we love our house . Fair enough if you had agreed upon style colour etc. but by taking it upon themselves to do all the choosing, then I think they have taken it upon themselves to do all the paying! Yay more questions for coral, I jst love bein passed to 3 diff people n getin the 'I don't know ' answer - maybe I'll wait til after Chrissy lol I think that is definitely the case with how it all seems to be going in NSW Kizmo. It makes it really difficult when they know you can't easily walk into their office to demand answers and it is to easy to dodge people via email and phone. But we will roll with the punches - at the end of the day they seem to have really great houses at reasonable prices which when all is said and done is what we all want. I can't wait till the 4th of January though - should be an interesting day Re: Coral Homes general build thread 2855Dec 22, 2015 10:12 am lock up by Christmas, thats great Ash! Won't be long til the insides are looking beautiful! Yeah I saw that in your thread melly, bank wont settle for anything less than an occupancy certificate unfortunately. Had we have gone through council we could have got a temporary one but cd have just emailed saying nothing will happen before christmas and they'll be in touch with coral on january 4. They'll probably muck around for another few weeks then finally we may get in. Kizmo thats terrible! So you have to be out soon? Gee just not what you need right now. Since when have coral organised anything with anybody else, let alone a fence. How ridiculous. They've really put you in a position which is a shame esp if it ruins your relationship with the neighbours. Here's to forgetting about coral over the Christmas period! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 2856Dec 23, 2015 6:26 am Our site was cut on the 17th like promised, happy to see some change to the block! From floor to top of the top drawer and from floor to top of benchtop please? We're very worried about ours, they seem waaaaaaaaay too low (64cm to top of unit, without benchtop on). Thanks in advance! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 2860Dec 24, 2015 2:35 pm Hi everyone, Merry Christmas Eve ! Is everyone ready for tomorrow, I'm not- hopefully I'll be more organised next year when I'm not living out of boxes, I'll bet a lot of u can relate lol. Yes thanx again melly- I'm so glad to hear it was all worth it, that's what I wanna b saying soon! Hi oldies, u gotta love fence dramas, i agree wth u, I don't want probs wth the neighbour so I'm just glad he didn't pay the other half ( which I think is what normally happens) I just gotta wrk it out wth the fencer, oh well, at least I kno the other side is going to b better as I've already spoken wth that side and they r going to email me quotes n we'll come to an agreement wth height, Colour, style as they r still building aswell. I've been reading some old posts n heard were putting in a pool room- sounds good, I'm trying to wrk out wot item of furniture to ditch so I can fit one in ? You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14099 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4335 |
