Unless there is a purpose to quote an image that has just been posted by another member (i.e you want to ask a question about one specific image that was in a post that contained multiple images) it just serves to clutter the thread unnecessarily with multiple quoted images making it difficult to read and slow to load. Thanks! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 1682Jul 01, 2015 3:55 pm Shanniidc So just a question for those of you who are ahead of me - how long was it between cabinetries being delivered to painting starting? We have another ss and he has told us he can't give us a PCI date until at least painting has started and even then it won't be definite. We aren't silly we know things happen but we would just like a rough date to work off so we can let our real estate know because they are on our backs about when we will be moving because they will have to advertise. I thought once bricking was done they would have an idea and I know many others get given dates so it's frustrating us to no end. Especially since we are 6-7 weeks behind already... My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 15 days from when the kitchen and bathroom cabinets were put up and the painter started (15 days including weekends, so probably two working weeks) but between that time, we had 3 working days of nothing happening.... So maybe a week if everything goes well? Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes general build thread 1683Jul 01, 2015 4:20 pm We have piering and slab prep! They were done on Monday, so you'll have to excuse my belief that he doesn't REALLY know what's going on at the house! No cabinets for us until the end of next week I think I need to start avoiding Shanni's thread! LOL Getting very over living with the inlaws. My youngest son is completely feral at the moment and I think he just needs his own space. Come on Coral, build my house!!! My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 Painting had already been going 4 days when my cabinetd arrived. My painter came a week early though as his offsider was overseas. Officially painting started the day after cabinets came (they were nailed in a few hours before spray started i think!) Re: Coral Homes general build thread 1688Jul 01, 2015 6:31 pm My cabinets were scheduled to arrive 8 days earlier though. But with our stolen doors i think they delayed it on purpose. My SS even sent back all out handles, toilet etc that arrived about 2 weeks ago. I freaked when i realised it was gone as i thought another theft, but the painter told me SS sent it back for safety as it was too early. Plumbing is supposed to happen this week before tiler is doing floors starting Friday. As of 11am today still no toilet, sinks etc though. Our stone tops are still not here either so i guess they cant do anything till they arrive. Today we had full air con install (gee they worked quick- just a couple hours this AM). Sparkies started yesterday and at 11am were 3 internal and 2 external lights fittings away from finishing. Also chippie turned up somewhere between 730and 11am and rehung the hinged doors, but did not put handles on? Cavity sliders still leaning against walls. So now i am (very impatiently)awaiting our benchtops so plumbing can get done and then the floors. I did get to do a good window measure and finally ordered all our blinds too. ☺ Re: Coral Homes general build thread 1689Jul 01, 2015 7:47 pm Did you end up going with blindsonline finnsmamma? I hate not being able to touch the fabric and that's what's stopping me go through them (coz they are a good price) Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes general build thread 1690Jul 01, 2015 9:02 pm manderinne Slab prep completed, slab tomorrow? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 1692Jul 01, 2015 9:31 pm Well, I dropped by the house... the front door is on and that's it! Well, our wet area tiles have been delivered, but the front door being put on was all the real progress. Let's hope the carpenters are back tomorrow to hang some more doors. It's been done for over a week already. Doesn't exactly inspire a great deal of confidence! But we met our SS's manager at our start day this Monday who is great and really on to it which did install complete confidence as he said he is the go to man if any issues arise. I hope its smooth sailing. Hope your waterproofing gets happenning, I can already see how it must feel anticipating things are going to happen then they don't and keep dragging out frustrating. Hoping all goes smoothly & quickly for you. Our SS is both roles for our area so we had no other go to person other than our HO contact. Yes, we certainly have no complaints about the tradies and the quality of the work which is the important thing. Yes quality tradesman vital. But so is organisation and time frames being met which unfortunately has been a weakness on your build. But for weaknesses I would prefer that than a crap built house thats the positive you have a fantastic house though a little later than expected to say the least...
