Quick Question - has anyone else been charged extra for a temporary gravel driveway???? I know most people would have had this driveway done at the same time as the cut & fill. Coral is telling us that there is no allowance for this & we have to put for ALL of it.. I think that's bullsh*t?!?! They should have a certain meterage included shouldn't they....?? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 286Feb 03, 2015 7:54 am Katie_11 Hi all. With ours it said they would provide the temp drive way but it was up to the owner to have it removed once construction was completed. As part of the house and land package they are doing our drive way so I'm assuming they will remove the rock when they do the site clean? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 287Feb 03, 2015 8:00 am I've had a quick look at our tender/contract and can't see it in there. Sounds a bit steep to me too Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 289Feb 03, 2015 10:10 am If they do put a temporary driveway in, and you are going to have a gravel driveway, get them to leave it behind, and you won't have to put as much gravel down later on. Of course if it is a concrete driveway, then you're going to need to dig it up anyway. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 290Feb 03, 2015 12:34 pm We had our block pegged out today and I've told our CSC so hopefully the plumber will be out this week and we can get our CDC done by the end of next week. My CSC called me to tell me that they've extended the deadline to issue a start date until the end of March so at least we don't have to worry about any price rises there - phew! The husband is heading back to the house today to pack up a few more things. This moving business seems to be never ending Hopefully we'll get our demo date tomorrow Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 291Feb 03, 2015 7:39 pm Fingers crossed for a demo date as soon as possible! Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes general build thread 294Feb 04, 2015 8:46 am Site peg out report received and sent to Coral Looks like we may have borrowed 30cms off our neighbour toward the front of our block - the fence must be on the wrong angle - so I hope this doesn't bugger things up too much! Julie, our littlest one is having a little trouble adjusting to the move. He's just turned four and has wet the bed three times out of the six nights we've been in with the inlaws. This morning he asked when we were going home Makes me so sad. We were hoping to show him the demolition when it happens but now I don't know if it'll just upset him more. The older two (6 and 7) are having no problems at all and constantly talk about 'the new house'. Hopefully he's starting to understand Thanks Mellywil, well that's good to hear about your son. I knew he would slowly warm up to a new house. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 299Feb 05, 2015 10:29 am Was just curious to know if any one has received or heard if coral homes gives like a little care package or anything once hand over is complete? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 300Feb 05, 2015 2:47 pm Mellywil, it's a difficult time for younger kids adjusting to a new home, I'm pleased to hear he's doing better, even though my son is 9 and he's excited about the new house, I know he's anxious about the move, that's why we're slowly introducing him to activities in our new area before the move. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14099 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4335 |
