So my husband went out to the block today & found the excavator there starting on the driveway (prepare it to lay the rock) & pad. Anyway the guy told us that we will be up for approx. $1500-$2000 in additional rock/excavating for the driveway, as they only allow for a certain amount of meterage from the garage. Our driveway is approx 50m long but this was identified in the plans/tender/site inspection.. everything!! I just don't think it sounds right for us to have to fork out that cost.. Coral should have included it in the tender with all the other site costs?!?! What do you guys reckon Re: Coral Homes general build thread 248Jan 28, 2015 7:35 pm Ouch! That's rough. Maybe check what's detailed in your contract. And speak to your SS too. I'd be peeved. Good luck! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 249Jan 28, 2015 8:48 pm What a beautiful block of land!!! Exciting!! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 250Jan 28, 2015 8:59 pm Katie_11 Hi everyone. It's like how they kept saying it was only our driveway to be poured yet the house and land package said it included the portico area. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 251Jan 28, 2015 9:02 pm Well we area t lock up though we don't. Have a key yet haha Cornices installed and the bricks have been cleaned and the render has been done. Pics in my own thread. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 255Jan 29, 2015 2:36 pm Do you guys have any idea of how we can make our master bedroom more private. We have a massive window on our left hand wall that opens on the back deck. (daydream 28) I don't want to just stick a blind there and have it down most of the time. Should have switched the window Coral Homes general build thread 256Jan 29, 2015 2:58 pm Maybe getting the windows tinted to provide something similar to one way glass? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 258Jan 29, 2015 5:43 pm Maybe plantation shutters? Will let light in while keeping some degree of privacy. I know jul! Move in day will be here before we know it. Though it can't come soon enough. It'll be 18mths living out of a suitcase by the time we move in Re: Coral Homes general build thread 260Jan 29, 2015 6:55 pm Just got our quote back for a heavily modified Bronte 38 (now a 43). I loooove our design and looks like it is structurally possible (building ensuite over alfresco with a big window from the bath in the ensuite down to the void below- we aren't having kids but could always put a curtain in). Have to pay our $1,600 by midnight to lock in before the price rise tomorrow... Only i don't know how much this rise is M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14110 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13774 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4350 |
