Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 03, 2014 5:21 am I'm in a bit of a spin at the moment. They completed around 25% of the prep for slab yesterday, most waffles are down but not much of the ribbing and steel reinforcement. Hopefully they'll get all the waffles down and ribbing this morning. Overnight, Melbourne went from only 0-2mm of rain to now being forecasted with up to 10mm today. Slab won't get poured today but I am worried with the rain and the vapour barrier up: 1) Wouldn't it become a bit of a pool when the rain comes? 2) How will they get rid of the 'pool' before slab pour? Will they try to get rid of it in the first place? Re: Heavy rain when waffles are down but slab not poured 2Dec 03, 2014 9:19 pm Thought I missed the rain today.......now it's starting to pour. Looks like it's going to rain for the next 1 1/2 hours..... The SS said they're planning to pour the slab tomorrow. Re: Heavy rain when waffles are down but slab not poured 3Dec 03, 2014 9:27 pm We had rain between the plastic and waffles going down and concrete being poured. Don't know how much of a puddle we ended up with and whether they drained it out somehow, but they definitely poured the next day. That probably doesn't help too much haha Re: Heavy rain when waffles are down but slab not poured 4Dec 03, 2014 9:56 pm nextbigstep We had rain between the plastic and waffles going down and concrete being poured. I've read other posts where they delayed the pour due to rain the night before......and I've read others like yours where they just pour anyway. Well, it looks like it's finally finished raining for now....but would have had a good 5mm of rain since 9am.... That was always going to be a challenge and a test of patience. Full marks to your mate. Did you discuss the wet area near the trampoline? 16 17377 Hello needing some advice.
