Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 30, 2014 3:21 pm Hi, I have recently settled land under my title in Parkbridge community. I have mirvac as nominated builder. I am more concerned with the ceiling height that Mirvac is offering. As per council, from ground to roof height should not be more than 8.5 metres. So I requested ceiling height for Ground floor is 2.745 and same for first floor and mirvac keeps roof at 22 angle height. But Mirvac has refused to go beyond 2.595 metre height for the first floor with the combination of 2.745 height at ground level. So to be clear, they offer ground level 2.745 and first level 2.595 maximum. My question here is has anyone in this community built house with ceiling height 2.745 for ground level and same for first floor ?? Please advise me if my request is unreasonable. I understand it depends on ground surface height as well. I told mirvac that I will check in council with town planner and they are not happy with my action. They say this is our guidelines to offer you ceiling height not more than 2.595 for first level. Ceiling height can never be changed after it is built unless I demolish in future so I really want to make sure that I get this if possible. Thank you.
