Driveway not yet done. Do you think this is a defect?? That needs to be fixed? Re: Garage door not fully closed 6Nov 28, 2014 12:06 pm Had an issue like this on our old house when we converted a carport to a garage. The garage door manufacturer provided a custom door which matched the profile of the floor. You couldn't tell visually that the door had been made out of square but it certainly looked a lot better than your case. Looks like the garage floor has a slope on it? Re: Garage door not fully closed 7Nov 28, 2014 12:54 pm There should be a rubber bumper along the bottom edge, can you just get a bigger one? Small footprint in Eliza Ponds, Spearwood WA Re: Garage door not fully closed 8Nov 28, 2014 3:16 pm If you haven't done your driveway yet you need to determine if this is due a non level garage floor or whether its due to one end of the rebate being to big. If the rebate is to big when you fill it up with concrete there will not be an issue. Re: Garage door not fully closed 9Nov 28, 2014 3:39 pm Re: Garage door not fully closed 12Nov 28, 2014 9:53 pm we had exactly the same problem. it is not garage door but it is floor level that is the problem. they changed the rubber at the bottom of door. it is now thicker rubber. now gap is still here but a bit less. we have got used to now. the problem is that sometime rain water comes in as the slop of floor is not right. Re: Garage door not fully closed 13Nov 28, 2014 9:58 pm Well we did plug it in and still the same. Will it be a big job to resurface the slab ? Garage door not fully closed 14Nov 29, 2014 1:31 pm Put a level on the slab. Check it. The other thing is if the slope is toward plaster wall in a heavy downpour you may get the water ruining the wall as it works its way across the slab. I wouldn't accept a gap on the bottom because like you said water will get in when it rains. Get the builder to give you a solution. They can work with the door company Re: Garage door not fully closed 15Nov 30, 2014 9:30 am Re: Garage door not fully closed 16Nov 30, 2014 7:34 pm Just tried a levelling app on my phone.. :p as suggested by a member.. Seems to be level in three points... So must be a garage door section that needs tweaking... Re: Garage door not fully closed 18Nov 30, 2014 8:52 pm Crazyk Maybe the track on one side is not adjusted correctly. At the top of the door, are the lines parallel to the lintel? Agree - maybe measure from ceiling. OOT - what's that sort of funny look the cement has at the end - just outside the door ? Surely they could have lifted the left slightly to ensure an even finish ?
