Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 41Apr 06, 2015 7:27 am Looks like we're the oldies in the street! Lol. Between Rob and I we have 6 adults children between the ages of 20 and 26 and only 2 living with us! No dogs or cats! We picked one shade of white on ceiling and walls right throughout... We will add accent colours with furniture and paintings etc... It is overwhelming at colour selection as it was hurried and visually hard to picture how it will look so we played it safe! Don't want any kind of shade of brown beige cream etc... Over it lol... We went past our home on Good Friday and brickies were there finishing so we should be at lock up this week... So far we are very happy with the quality and progress and I think we are lucky that boutique had a bit of a restructure with their site foremans and we got Angelo assigned... I think Luke had too many houses he was managing and I was told they distributed the workload better... Maybe this is the fallout of the issues from Newbee1!!!!!!! Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 43Apr 06, 2015 1:29 pm We have two girls 4 and 6. I'm up at the estate as we speak, girls are riding their bikes around the path at the playground. I think someone had a party at the park, as there is rubbish everywhere. I think an animal or bird attacked a garbage bag full of rubbish. Hopefully they will install some bins.. So many kangaroos around - just staring at us.. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 44Apr 06, 2015 3:10 pm I think you may be right Stacey I feel the change in site supervisor may be to blame for our issues with the building inspection. We also visited the block on Saturday and yes there was a large party in the park, I guess they must have left their rubbish. I have had a much better experience regarding the fencing if anyone is interested. After numerous phone calls and messages un-returned I got a hold of Into-Fencing and Chris has been fantastic. Was the cheapest quote we received and for $30 a neighbor they will chase up the money owed from your neighbors before they start the fences. He also advised that PEET has no clear answer on the winged fencing so as such we have decided not to get it. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 45Apr 06, 2015 9:13 pm Sorry if my messages appear twice... Some sort of a glitch with my iPad and this app! We actually met the guy from Intofencing but his name was Dean, which I think is the owner... Our back fence was just installed without consent and we just got an invoice in the mail. We were a bit annoyed but thought the price was fair so we will probably use them also, as long as our neighbours are happy? Rachel and Matt?.. Not sure about the winged fencing either so we will work that out when we get to it... Even though I do think it would look really nice! We visited tonight on the way home and so happy to see that our brick work is finished... Just waiting on a front door and a couple of windows and it's locked up... So look forward to see the inside start taking shape! Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 46Apr 07, 2015 7:11 pm Hi all, We'll be happy to go with In2Fencing as well, they seemed easy to deal with when getting the back fence done. Stacey, your brickwork looks fantastic; ours is due to start tomorrow and I'm hoping its the same quality of workmanship as yours! Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 47Apr 08, 2015 7:06 pm Hi Rachel, yeah we are soooo happy with the work our brickies did and rendering yesterday... So clean up happening this week and our eaves then plastering next week! Awesome! Happy also to use In2fencing and maybe we can negotiate with them! Did you find out anything more about the side front fencing? Dud you want to do it? Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 48Apr 08, 2015 9:25 pm I haven't seen any houses with the feature wing fencing yet. I think it would look good, but I'd probably prefer it on both sides. I'll also be looking to get a colourbond gate installed so it might be a good idea to try and get some leverage on prices for items like fencing and driveways etc. If we're planning on getting similar options we may get better prices if we use the same suppliers! Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 49Apr 08, 2015 10:22 pm Sounds like a great idea to me. Rob is looking into the driveway soon so I'll let you know! Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 50Apr 09, 2015 1:22 pm Hi all, Great to see and hear that all the brickwork is going along nicely. I am also going to try to use some leverage on IntoFencing as although the fencing price is good and gate came back much dearer than expected. We have also just receive a nice credit back of $897 from Boutique as the survey we paid for was not needed. Final something positive from them. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 51Apr 09, 2015 1:55 pm Hi newbee,1, We must be on par as we received our survey refund also today. Greychle keep me updated with the fencing as we are on the other side of you and I'll do the same.. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 52Apr 09, 2015 7:36 pm Crap... I want a refund! Think you guys are further ahead... So maybe lol.... Rob met with driveway concreter tonight so we will let you know when we get the quote... I like the wing fencing but want it on both sides too and we have a vacant block next door so don't know what they would want or be willing to pay! Newbee1 how much was the quote for your gate as we all need one, and I might get in touch with them and put some pressure on giving us all a better price as we are all looking at using them through the forum! I think if they knew we were all in cahoots they might be a bit more flexible! Worth a try! Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 53Apr 10, 2015 12:37 pm So I contacted IntoFencing and the cheapest they can do on the gate is $520 for a d-latch or $600 for a lockable gate. As we have the two dogs I need the lockable one. I have found a nice slatted gate though that I really like in the same grey colour as the fences (with the bonus of my dogs being able to see out). It is $468 but I have to install it myself, I can't seem to see any issues with the design guidelines and I think by the look of some of the gates already up I will not have any issues (re- pool fencing/sheets of timber). We have an inspection booked in tomorrow morning to see how we are progressing so excited to actually go into our home. Stacey if you could let us know how you go with the concrete quote as I am also looking to get two concrete paths put down both our sideways when we move in. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 54Apr 10, 2015 7:17 pm Rachel and Matt I've booked Intofencing to come on 18th April at 9am to quote fencing so if you want to talk to him too! And maybe Newbee1 and Ameava if you want to meet him also... May get buying power! Rob can give you the contact for driveway too! I got onto Peet head office and they emailed me the guidelines so if anyone wants a copy? The winged fencing isn't compulsory but of course if you get it, it has to be on both sides so will ultimately impact on the entire street! So need to think about this... Money wise also? Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 55Apr 11, 2015 5:59 pm Hi Stacey, Great work following up with the fences and guidelines. I have just booked In2fencing for our install on the 27th of April as this is our handover date and really need the fences up before we move in. We have decided not to get the wing fencing however did decide to go with the lockable colorbond gate. Had a meeting on site with our site supervisor Angelo this morning and did mention that I had been communicating with other clients in the street. It was good to keep him on his toes now that he knows we all know what is going on. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 56Apr 12, 2015 7:04 pm Wow so much activity on this thread since we've been away for Easter! we drove by the estate this evening and things seem to be progressing, especially with the displays! Hubby spoke to the site supervisor by chance when we visited before Easter and they are apparently opening on April 25th. We've been through the Grandvue displays and the bigger one has an amazing ensuite with sunken bath!!! As for kids, I have two girls, 12 and 9 and one son who is nearly 7. We frequent the park often Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 57Apr 13, 2015 8:48 pm Hi All, How exciting that some of you are so close to settlement! Stacey, we'll definitely try to stop by on Saturday. We might also need to confirm the quotation validity as most quotes are only valid for 30 days. Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 58Apr 16, 2015 6:53 pm True Rachel... We will have to ask them about that! How's your progress going? We are starting plastering and painting by end of month... Newbee1 how has your issues going? Hope they've been resolved! I'm assuming that you are up the hill closest to the corner? If you are, do you know our neighbours? The vacant block between us? When we were there on Saturday, noticed Telstra digging in your block so you must be getting really close now! Ameava how close are you? I'll be on site tomorrow just meeting our Elec to fit additional lighting so I will have a look around and see the progress in a week. Ciao Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 59Apr 17, 2015 5:44 pm Hi all, Stacey we are actually at the bottom of the hill on the opposition side of the street to you guys. We are only one week away from completion now and can't wait. The slab level issue did put us back two weeks as we were meant to have handover last Monday but at least now our house is straight. We are heading up to the block tomorrow for a check on progress, our front render has been completed, electrical, plumbing and final finishes complete and floors were due to start today. Our fencing is book for the 27th and hopefully we'll be in the week after that. Ameave are you booked in for your handover this Monday? Re: Anyone building/buying in Aspect Estate Greenvale? 60Apr 17, 2015 8:23 pm Yes I know where you are now Newbee... I asked Angelo and he pointed it out! He'll be on site tomorrow too! So lucky you're moving in soon and glad your issues got resolved quickly!... I can't wait to get in! Yeah I don't know why I came to a forum. Place is full of wierdos/pedos thought internet may help but I suppose I'll try my luck with someone in person. Cheers. I tried… 0 6484 Wish you all the best.
