Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 13, 2014 12:17 pm Hi I want to have couple of sliding doors in my Ensuite and Bathroom for more room for example a mirror or something on the back walls But I was not going to put sliding doors on the WIR and Laundry and toilet Do you guys think it would look weird having 2 sliding doors to the bathrooms and rest of the house as normal? This is my house plan if that helps https://www.dropbox.com/s/wdyb59v08eq0c ... n.png?dl=0 Am I just stressing out for nothing? Re: Having some Sliding doors 2Nov 13, 2014 12:53 pm Drekko Am I just stressing out for nothing? yes esp since it's in the ensuite! but YMMV and everyone thinks differently and it's your home so it really matters what you think / feel about it. I always compare to if we just bought an established house. You get what you get and you wouldn't think anything of it most likely! Re: Having some Sliding doors 3Nov 13, 2014 1:02 pm My girlfriends home is very similar to my homes layout ( no copying intended I swear) She has sliding doors in ENS and WIR Bathroom and Laundry Rest of the doors are normal I dont think its weird or even notice The only difference with hers is she has sliding door in WIR and mine will be normal and sliding door in laundry and mines normal Re: Having some Sliding doors 4Nov 13, 2014 1:22 pm The cavity sliders they installed in our place retract completely into the wall; they have a little catch on the edge, which you use when you open them. Because they disappear, it doesn't look strange to have swinging doors nearby, IMHO at least. We've seen this is one of the display homes we visited and it worked. All of our other doors will be normal doors.
