Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone bought in North Kellyville. Kakadu Street?? 61Aug 19, 2015 10:32 pm Sekisui took 5 weeks to issue our tender and the architectural drawings. I found 15 errors on every single page of the drawings set and naturally started challenging the position of the house. Another issue was with the position of the water tank which they put in the middle of our backyard as a detached water tank that of course, incurred more cost to have like that. Should I mention that this was one of the first questions I asked before the tender and they said they'd be able to put a water tank on the side of the house. So I decided to take things under control and started my own excel spreadsheet (for the requirements) and our own auto cad files for the drawings as that was the only way I could un-ambigously communicate what we wanted. They claimed they were quite flexible but the only flexibility I found was in relaxing the deadlines they had. Anyhow, after 5 weeks of no activity they came back saying I was right about the position of the house which now could sit 6m from the street (garage). In the meantime I had all the drawings done and all the requirements listed, submitted it all and received an e-mail they now want 750 dollars more for extra drafting. I've just had enough of that and I'm ready to move on. I hope you're all having much better experiences with your builders. Today is a new start . Who cares about the sunk cost . Re: Anyone bought in North Kellyville. Kakadu Street?? 62Aug 19, 2015 10:43 pm Wow! Is all I can say. That's crazy your having so many issues. Hopefully you can move on with your new builders. Yep, we've lost out on money too through previous company. Onwards and upwards I say. Good luck. Re: Anyone bought in North Kellyville. Kakadu Street?? 63Oct 08, 2015 11:17 pm So a quick update We've got BAL 12.5. It'll cost us a few grand more. Not the end of the world. We're 92m away from the bush, 100m is the boundary line . Modernview homes have been great so far. We've chosen all the options and finalised the design. Hope to accept the tender on Sunday and get on with the project. So excited!!! I see that everyone is progressing well with your projects. Fingers crossed and the truck depot leaves soon. Re: Anyone bought in North Kellyville. Kakadu Street?? 66Jan 09, 2018 3:12 pm Hi Ramprasa, we bought land from castlehaven 3years ago and have been in our home for two years as have the other people in this chat. None of us have built with Eden Brae. The Eden Brae house and land packages are all new on that side of the street and was all a trucking company land when we bought and built. There is a building and living in North Kellyville facebook page where other people who have built in North Kellyville may be able to help. In regards to the street your welcome to ask any questions. We are all pretty friendly. although since we bought our land the development plans have changed dramatically so not sure how much info we can give. Re: Anyone bought in North Kellyville.
