That's the email we received after slabdown so I think the works you see in my last photo will be some of that work. I have no idea what the termite protection looks like though! My slab doesn't look blue..... Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 45Dec 08, 2014 8:26 pm fullmoon the builder said that they had done termite protection on the slab but how we can know if there is termite protection already been applied , i am exactly behind you in the same row in our building progress , thats really annoying . . The letter did say that the delays are dependent on which area you're in so there is a chance that it won't affect you as much.. *fingers crossed* My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74269 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 46Dec 17, 2014 10:44 pm Pzzldmind is there any progress on your build , Monday we had drains installed and I spoke to CA for any update , she said first week after they return we will have the site clean then materials will be supplied after that brickies will be allocated to our job. its really long time , cant wait this long. We went by tonight and the site looks cleaned up but nothing else - it sounds like you may have caught up to me! I don't expect to see anything more done this close to Christmas My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74269 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 48Dec 18, 2014 10:47 am Might you will get the bricks delivered before Christmas . If not now then definitely first week of return. Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 49Jan 06, 2015 11:29 am Hope everyone had a great Christmas/New Year!! =) Just a quick update - there has been no progress really on our block which is not surprising with the holidays and all. Just received a response from the builder to advise that all the underground work has been completed and we're now just waiting for the bricks to be delivered and a bricklayer assigned. She's confirmed they are still going through the bricklayer shortage which sucks! Hubby and I went to our block on the weekend and we met one of our neighbours. Makes me look forward to moving in even more now that i know I'll be living next to such nice people!! Anyway, the topic of Fridge recesses came up, and it's now made me wonder whether we have enough space for a decent sized fridge so hopefully I can get some help with this! I asked the builder for some measurements for the depth of the recess as i couldn't work it out on the plans, and she replied with the measurements written in: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Is the space for the fridge enough for us, including enough space for the water tap and gap for air circulation etc.? I think we were looking at getting a fridge that is similar to this: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/kitchen- ... ridge.html The depth of this fridge says 82.4cm and the depth of the plan says 650.... does that mean i only have a 65cm depth?? =( My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74269 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 51Jan 06, 2015 1:51 pm the door handles stand out quite a bit. Why don't you measure in the shop the side depth of the fridge to the point where the door starts? I wonder why you buy these kind of fridge in the first place. I find it rather unpractacle to open 2 doors if I wanted to get something bigger out or in. I have to open the doors first then get the item I want to put in and vice versus. I also wouldn't remember what is on which side, meaning open one door, ups, not there, open the other door. Although one door never opens the right way in relation to your kitchen. I find Samsung has excellent single door fridge/freezers, same size or bigger which easily fit into the space and look great. Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 52Jan 08, 2015 8:33 pm Hi Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year The measurement i think shouldn't be less than 650 according to your fridge size, as you saying the water tap is behind the fridge this also will take some space, when first time you meet the site supervisor it's worth it to ask him if you are lucky enough might he will fix it for you as it's easy if supervisor does it but the builder won't allow changes at this stage, mine is 600 I will ask too finger cross for both of us In building progress we are together. Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 53Jan 08, 2015 11:00 pm yes it means the depth is only 500mm one side and 650mm the other. so your 825mm fridge plus room for a tap is going to stick out about 300mm from the pantry but i would be worried that being french doors that when you open them it could hit the pantry door cause its on an angle plus you find with french door fridges normally one door opens fine with the other door not opening but the other door you need to open them both so you can close it. Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 54Jan 08, 2015 11:12 pm Do you have overhead above your fridge .mine was placed behind that . But I didnt even think about opening my fridge and one side doesnt open all the way . And hits the pantry door handle .if only I new I would of moved door down abit to the wip . I also needed to push the fridge to one side so the other door could open . The wall was kinda in the way . I think all fridge manufacturers say to leave some sort of gap on either side . Mine doesnt . I guess I should of thought of this when I bought the fridge lol . We have learnt to live with it . Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 55Jan 20, 2015 11:37 am Wow heaps of information in your thread. All the things I have to look forward to. Iv just finished prestart with CH, same slow process and the rest of you signing up in feb last yr and completing prestart a year later :/ As we are concretors CH asked us if we know any brickies to book them in to build our house because of the shortage in brickies. Bit disturbing when the builder asks u to find someone to build your own house :/ but I was assured at prestart that now the xmas rush is over teams with no work will come crawling back. I was told 6-8 weeks till scheduling is finished and then just waiting for slab but the timeline they have given me is as reliable as the weather forecast - make it up as they go along. Looking forward to watching your build Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75398&p=1291882#p1291882 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 56Jan 20, 2015 11:45 am Hi Modernoutback! Welcome aboard the CH Train! =) I think compared to a lot of other threads i've read about other builders, CH is really not too bad - just slowwwww!! We're currently on a race with the one remaining block on our street - I have a feeling we'll be getting the wooden spoon but oh wells!! Let me know if you start and thread and i'll follow - would love to read about your building journey too! My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74269 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 57Jan 20, 2015 1:49 pm Hi Pzzldmind Any progress on your build, I have called last week my CA said that the brickies will be allocated to my job this week and I received another email saying might they be on site end of next week but I have feeling they will not start before February, just waiting to see. Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 58Jan 20, 2015 3:39 pm Hi Fullmoon, I did the same thing and pretty much got the same response. I went to the block yesterday during my lunch break and there was movement!! The window frames have arrived, and a truck was in the process of setting down the toolshed (i'm assuming it's a toolshed!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our competing block down the road (there is just one block besides ours that is yet to be built on our street) have had their bricks delivered so we're behind and likely to get the wooden spoon I wonder if we have the same CC!
