I am really don't know why they are in two colours , we have checked them actually each brick one side is lighter and the other side is darker , I called my CA today she said that the darker colour are going to face the brown bricks but still I have a feeling that its not right. not sure why its like this. Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 62Jan 21, 2015 11:01 am Hi pzzldmind and fullmoon! Re: Fridge tap Put it just above fridge height in the recess. Bare in mind overhead cupboards, but it is just a tap and doesn't take up much room. That's what I was suggested to do and did at prestart Re: Brick faces Face bricks will have one set outside/good face to all be matched on the outside of the house. I couldn't see your image (work blocks most) to get a good idea, but I was told about this myself, and there was no issue. Hope this helps! First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. Or if you never added it in originally (sorry so much on my mind of late) then I imagine it will cost a bit extra. First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. My build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69032 First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood - Brickla 67Feb 17, 2015 3:56 pm Finally an update!! Looks like work has started on the block - apparently CH had to allocate another build team due to the last one not finishing up which set us back at least another week. It was disappointing to say the least when we rocked up to the block two weeks ago after being told work would start, with no movement whatsoever. That disappointment turned to utter frustration when we saw another CH build at a later stage at the estate with brick laid almost to plate height. Cue email to CC asking for another update and explanation whether there were any other delays on our build besides the bricklayer shortage because logically, the other CH build should be waiting like we were - no offence to the other build, and happy for them that they're moving along but you know what i mean!! Got a phone call from CC to say that she would chase it up at the supervisor's meeting, and then finally, CC emailed me last Friday to advise that work started on Thursday. Not sure how much work goes into putting up frames and bricklaying, but I went by yesterday afternoon (Monday) and this is the result of 3 days worth of work: Some bricks laid: http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag416/pzzldmind/160215Bricking_zps8d075d7c.jpg Bay Window Frame: http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag416/pzzldmind/160215BayWindowFraming_zps4e078bce.jpg Hubby and I think maybe we should wait till the end of the week before we go back so we can see more of a progress...! Does anyone have any ideas how long it usually takes to get to plate height? My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74269 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 68Feb 17, 2015 9:55 pm Hey - glad to see "something" has started!! Depends on how many brickies you have as to how long it takes. We had one brickie and he took about 2 months (minus a couple of weeks over Christmas). I know what you mean about how frustrating it is to see houses which started after yours (AND by same builder) get work done before yours Its nice to know they CAN get work done but I would prefer it if they did them in order in which they were started!! Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 69Feb 18, 2015 10:58 am sinurt Hey - glad to see "something" has started!! Depends on how many brickies you have as to how long it takes. I just read through your thread - now I get why you totally understand what i mean about seeing other CH houses progress ahead!! I'm crossing my fingers that I get your brickie - he sounds like he did a great job! My hubby and I are on holidays from end of next week for a month (we do touch down in Perth for a day in mid-March, then off again!) so I wouldn't be too upset if it takes a little longer to get the brickwork done if it means its done well! I vent my frustration to my work colleagues and they tell me that unfortunately, people that complain the loudest tend to get their way if only to shut them up. I'd hate to think that this was the case with CH because it sucks to have to be nasty to get things done! Have followed your thread (don't know why i haven't yet!!!) Not sure how true this is or not but something to ponder anyway. Hoping for a speed up in your brickwork process! First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. I think this might just be a Commodore thing as other houses are being built around me with what seems like little or no delays. Actually pretty much the only houses left to be completed on our street are all Commodore ones Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 72Feb 19, 2015 10:01 pm I gotta agree with sinurt cos we're the last one on the street and the only CH! Our bricks finished last week and plate height invoice arrived about 3 days later. It took roughly 2 weeks to reach plate hight. Who is your SS? Hi Fullmoon - sorry for the long absence, I went on holiday, got a new job, etc etc so haven't had a real chance to jump back on here! How is your build going? We reached lockup stage yesterday and have been given an approximate timeframe for handover of 8-10 weeks. I'm hoping it's more the 8 weeks since we will be doing the painting and flooring ourselves! How is everyone else going? My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74269 Re: First Home Build with Commodore Homes in Honeywood 80Jun 18, 2015 11:22 am Hey pzzldmind! Congrats on the new job! We reached lock up on 12/6 so not too far off from you. Our tiles and cabinets have been delivered and the internal doors and ceilings have been hung/painted. They do seem to be flying along since lock up. all the best for PCI/handover! Hoping ours is around 8 weeks too as we are downing our own flooring and painting So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
