Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 02, 2014 7:43 pm Hi All,
Welcome to my first post. I hope that any one building a home in Adelaide will consider my posts useful. I have had so many issues with the builder, I wanted to ensure that anyone considering building knows what they are getting themselves into. We all know a home is such a big investment, you want it built well right ? its a lot of money. If you purchase a new Porsche would you pay top dollar if it had a scratch or was missing a wheel. Ofcourse you wouldn't. Why should there be any exception when building a home you want it built well. Having purchased a house and land package, I was obliged to build with Sterling Homes. Point is, most larger builders pay such poor money to the carpenters most of them don't care as they want to maximize their profit margin. At the end of the day, many builders are crooks and they are ripping hard working people like you and me off. Is that really fair ?? I certainly think not. Recently the builder have commenced the framework. Today, I visited the site and noticed someone on site. He was studying building and couldn't believe the poor quality of the workmanship. I was quite concerned and will obtain an independent building inspection to ensure the work is complaint with the building code. I want to share my experience with the rest of the community and to be aware what they are getting themselves into. The aim of my blog is to provide proof to the community and allow you to form your own opinion and provide feedback. Re: Building with Sterling Homes Adelaide 2Nov 02, 2014 7:52 pm Hi Sterling Builder, I look forward to following your journey. I considered Sterling as I thought their displays at Lightsview and St Clair were good. But we ended up choosing Simonds and we are really happy so far (we are just about to sign contract). Hope it works out. Will follow your journey.
