What's the point in giving a site start date when nothing is started? I'm hoping things start moving ASAP and that it all happens really quickly. How annoying!!! So did you have a meeting with the SS onsite prior to the start date?? No. We are meeting him tomorrow at 9.30am. We hadn't heard from him so called head office on Friday. They said he would be in touch. Hubby called him at lunchtime today. Not very happy. As a minimum I expect delays like this to be communicated. We had a call from our SS the day after we got the official start date (go over a few things RE getting power & water). He has also said he will meet up with us before the start date (that was also stated in the letter from Coral we received today). I hope things get better for you Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 85Jan 13, 2015 4:30 pm Just met with the SS. He seems pretty nice. Looks like nothing much will happen until Friday. The surveyors are booked for Friday to do the pegging out. Then machinery booked for Monday. Apparently Coral's build times of 16 weeks are based on Brisbane build times where they may have 10 of each trade. Here in Hervey Bay they only have one of each trade with 8 builds currently on the go including ours. He's averaging around 18 weeks for builds at the moment. Will post some photos once I have something to take photos of! Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 86Jan 13, 2015 7:19 pm Oh and we have our construction key! Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 87Jan 13, 2015 8:12 pm Hi daydream_build,good to hear that your SS is on to everything. Our site start was at the beginning of December and we still haven't been given a construction key,I assumed that we would get it at lock up stage, did your SS just give it to you? I'm feeling a little disappointed as although our site start was beginning of December they still haven't finished the waffle pods and steel, thus we are still waiting for our slab. Julie Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 88Jan 13, 2015 10:42 pm Wow that key was fast!! It's pretty cool to watch the machinery work the block. I was amazed how quick it was all cut and levelled. We also received our construction key at our first meeting too. Julie SS should provide the key when you do your first onsite meeting before/just after site scrape. My SS told me he will would provide the key to me before he left. We both forgot about it. Quick email to him and he left it in the meter box for me to collect. So if you don't have it, send an email to your SS. Maybe it's different in Sydney? Our slab was meant to be down by now,Our SS has said that it will be done on Saturday,he said that rain delayed it, thankfully the next few days are expected to be clear. I can't wait until we are finished, it's a long process. Please keep posting photos, I can't wait to see you home finished. Have you heard from Mellywil?Julie Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 93Jan 15, 2015 7:49 am We weren't given a key either which we thought we would get it once the house was at lock up stage. We also weren't given the combination for the bike chain that is locking the temp fencing so may down here in nsw they don't give the key until lock up? We have been told we aren't allowed onsite without our ss or until we have the key. Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 94Jan 15, 2015 9:16 am Hmm. My SS said feel free to attend the site, but after hours, as tradies can be a bit annoyed - which is fair. He had no problems with letting me in. Happy for us to visit but best after hours. Out of interest at what stage did the temporary fencing go up around your properties? Out of interest at what stage did the temporary fencing go up around your properties? I was advised that i did not require temporary fencing, so none for me. Not sure what the criteria is for fencing or not. Some houses in my area have fencing, but mainly only from the expensive builders. My Noosa 23 Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72782 Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 97Jan 15, 2015 2:01 pm Hmm strange that you didn't need temp fencing. We had people building/living next to us so I just thought it was for our neighbours and also security wise. Our temp fencing was put up pretty much straight away after site scrape. Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 98Jan 15, 2015 2:11 pm Thanks whzzz and cubshome. Have noticed in our estate that some houses do and some houses don't have the fencing. It is noted on our site plans and We have been charged in our tender for it so I would imagine it is required. Else I'll ask for a refund of that charge. Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 99Jan 15, 2015 2:13 pm Hmm yeah I thought we could visit the site after the tradies have left which is what we do anyways due to work. Re: Coral Homes Modified Daydream 30 - Colours 100Jan 15, 2015 2:26 pm Yeah if they never use it then I'll be asking for a credit. Always got to keep an.
