With their unique "handball" skills, Councils should all be stars of the AFL...! Fingers crossed the septic guy will have it all sorted. Actually good to have the extra fill on reactive clay. Less hard digging, no water collecting under the slab... But yes, pricey indeed! Colour choices are lovely btw Re: Sterling custom on 10 acres Adelaide. 25Apr 03, 2015 9:59 pm Posting to follow, we are also building on a property. Our roof is Gully as well - very happy with the colour. Good luck with the approvals. Less hard digging, no water collecting under the slab... But yes, pricey indeed! Colour choices are lovely btw Yep, Things have just become so impractical due to the amount of but covering. Agree extra fill will beneficial, providing they don't find more clay to use. I think it was also going to be a waiting game as to when and where they were going to get the fill from. If we wanted sooner I think we had to use quarry rubble which would be extra $$$. Our roof is Gully as well - very happy with the colour. Good luck with the approvals. Yeah we wanted to use bushland to start then noticed a lot of bushland roofs including ours were quite faded. Then the choice was taken away as it was discontinued. Gully was the closest, mangrove being to green. Cheers. The septic was sorted, had to raise tank lid to the same FFL of the house pad. The report was reworded in smaller slower words so the council were able to understand it. This was quite good because now my 6 year old Son can also understand it. The demo crew have now gutted the joint and awaiting the excavator for the final push, along with some large tree trunks and stumps to come out. They were there a bit longer than expected as there was so much asbestos in it. Big heads up for anyone doing renos on old places, I didn’t think there was any in it. So never take it for granted. Have been busy as we pulled up all the pavers, removed evap cooler, solar water, fire, dish washer etc. Took some roofing iron and used as cladding on a horse shelter, so kept quite a bit of the old place. Wasn’t until the rain got in and left a deep puddle in one corner that you could see just how far the joint had subsided. So now the builder just needs to find 500 ton of fill…. I’ll post some pics soon, Cheers. All gone now, and just waiting for 500 odd ton of fill..... http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150311_161925_zpsry88kx8k.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150312_110339_zps2b9vqrsj.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150313_101403_zpslepdzas7.jpg Got a head start on the demo crew. Wasn't really much left for them to salvage. The roofing iron is now the cladding on a new horse shelter. Evap cooler and solar hot water will go on the shed. Carport is to become a new stable tack room, tractor shed. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150426_082519_zpsuecmrga1.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150505_171138_zpsup9ylvb0.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150507_164823_zpskfjw3faa.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/20150517_172623_zpsapy5uyiq.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/image-dc501b803cda1ea6fbd7f305347537861c80ba7749192927d444748b73c2cfde-V_zpspz2o5hme.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/image-6eac1c8f67df33188d49ac3b5dad107873f668387fa3b59028bf62d19e25ae1f-V_zpsglkxldqg.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah163/claypot1/Mobile%20Uploads/image-4c6e18709536f240bf34b4278c44ce9a1593657f25d74ae569fde3dd805e2d8c-V_zpsax0dklde.jpg Our Build Here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74037&p=1255246#p1255246 Re: Sterling custom on 10 acres Adelaide. 35Jun 03, 2015 9:28 pm Your land is lovely, congratulations on demo. Cheers TomCat, Unfortunately due to the amount of asbestos in the old place we kept the kids away to stay on the safe side. No way, just looked at your thread can't believe that someone did that to your slab, pricks... Especially as we had been talking about it a month or so earlier! Maybe we should talk about having a high level of finish with no variations, and a quick build time instead! Great to see your place progressing, shouldn't be long now I would think.
