im keeping a close eye on your finding to help me out thanks Re: Building a PD Illoura 225Feb 05, 2009 6:37 am They won't move the tap....we had that argument. It's your problem - unless you paid extra to have an additional tap on the side of the house, and then they still won't remove the one in the yard. You wouldn't htink it was such a big deal...
Most of that stuff will be fixed really quickly - we had a lot of the same unfinished things at this point in our build. Some filling, sanding and painting and it'll look perfect. The stains on the timber doors should be easy to fix, and if the rusted fittings don't clean up, get them to replace them - we had all our bifold handles and locks replaced, also the ensuite and garage ones for the same reason. Really they wont move the tap? hmmm I know its a stocklands requirment, although not a popular one since everyones taps are out the front, but we were pretty sure that the drawings showed it against the front... will have to check it out. After they replaced your external fittings how have the faired now? Are they rusted again? Or was it maybe the brick cleaning that rusted them quickly? We have heard from our CSR that she's seen the list and has passed it onto our SS. There are a few things in that list that they have said they will not do and some that we'll probably have to fight for but no reason for us to be getting upset just yet. Re: Building a PD Illoura 227Feb 05, 2009 7:42 am Some more update pictures. Electrical fitout is done, ceiling vents are in, plumbers are done. Once the carpets and mirors are in this things going to look like a home!

I don't really have an opinion on this one other than the base of the shower head is above the top of the tiles, will that be a problem? Won't be long now have they told you an approx time frame going fwd?? Yup, how could I have lef that out?! We have booked in Kev and the PCI for monday afternoon. Then I cant remember the exact details (thats Jackies job ) but I think its the 19th handover (something like that). Re: Building a PD Illoura 231Feb 05, 2009 8:50 am woodsey WOW so close! you must be getting super excited! have you starting doing all the not so fun stuff PACKING and cleaning!! None, well limited, packing for us. All of our stuff is in storage, we moved from Canberra to Melbourne about 3 months ago and have been living with my brother. My brother's place is a small unit so 3 people, 3 dogs in a 2 bedroom unit is far from ideal, but you do what you have to do. For my wife its meant moving between 5 houses in as many months! What we have started is doing the un-fun stuff like organising fencing, telephone connection, insurance quotes etc etc Re: Building a PD Illoura 232Feb 05, 2009 11:18 am Gee, lots of issues!!
What issues have they said they won't be fixing, and which ones might you have to fight for?? They all look quite glaringly obvious, so I'm surprised that they could think that they don't warrant fixing. Your colours all look really nice, love your wet areas, your paint throughout ( which was?? ) and your garage door. Very Nice!! Oh, and a special mention to that lovely blue brick, really helps to break up the green! Good Luck with your PCI, hope It goes smoothly for you and Jackie and that they come to the party and fix all of your issues! I cant remember the name of the color, it is the same one in the display home, they'll know! The 'no' item was the crack in the slab wont get any attention, its not large and its probably because of the heat , no biggie. The 'fight for' was the down pipe not being recessed enough. I will fight for this one as it much more obvious than the others around the house due to the angle it was put in at. As for the other stuff I cant remember if any others were umm'd about. Re: Building a PD Illoura 234Feb 05, 2009 12:29 pm Re: Building a PD Illoura 235Feb 05, 2009 8:18 pm Our new door handles are fine - we were pretty sure it was the brick cleaning that was responsible.
The dumper shower head ...hmm...I'm still arguing about ours. I looked up Reece's website and the pipe comes in two lengths (I think it was 300mm and 600mm). Ours is the shorter length - I believe that OOPS, they forgot we have super-high ceilings. Display home photos I've looked at that have the same ceiling height appear to have the longer pipe. Our SS was supposed to be looking into it. Ha! It actually works fine - it doesn't splash water outside the shower. It just looks stupid. If your drawings/plans show a tap on the front of the house, then insist it be installed. And make them do it properly, no pipes on the front of the house... Removing the existing tap is apparently easy enough to do, something unscrews near ground level and you just cap it. Of course you have to be a registered plumber to do it... *ahem* As for the garage light - they are idiots! We had exactly the same problem. It's a floodlight, for goodness' sake....all our other floodlights are up near the fascia. The electrician who did the rough-in has assumed that the cable is for a feature light - either that or the heights were marked wrongly on the electrical plans. Our copy didn't have heights marked on it, so we couldn't check... We ended up leaving the cable where it was and making it a feature light, then put a flood on the opposite side near the portico. Re: Building a PD Illoura 236Feb 05, 2009 10:06 pm PD have really extracted the finger and gotten on with the job. Some more random picture of the electrical works, some items for Monday.

Its really nice, nicer than we expected since we never saw a roll of it only the swatch. And it feels soo good under foot. We spoke to a salesman out at the macey carpet center dealy and he said said for making the carpet feel good under foot upgrade the underlay not the carpet, man he was right, we went the 3rd level (blue? gold?) underlay and wow, it feels great! Ours is confirmed for Monday and Kev is all booked in, let the good times roll. Re: Building a PD Illoura 237Feb 06, 2009 6:38 am Great house and colours. I'm about to build with PD (well the building process might start in July) and I was wondering what brick colour you have in your house. I was after something like yours but unfortunately ourhome is going to be from the 'Lifestyle' range.

Re: Building a PD Illoura 239Feb 06, 2009 8:27 am Mikkyg we have the same shower dumper, and ours looks to be a little lower (but not much) than yours, but as ours is a 2 storey house, I'm guessing our ceiling height is slightly lower than yours...?
We just had an extra row of tiles laid , so maybe you could do that post handover...?? You'll love it, anyway - it has a great "spray patter", or whatever fancy name they give it!
