Re: Newport 309 - First home :) 6Oct 19, 2014 10:13 pm Tried to have a sneak peak yesterday but everything was locked lol so creepy stalker window photos it is hehe So finally painting has started woo hoo but they still haven't put a door on our balcony which is annoying as with the melbourne weather I don't really want rain coming in & ruining the walls Will be emailing our builder lady this week who is suppose to be giving us updates but the only time we hear from her is for stage payments to let us know what's going on, as the bulk head you see in the kitchen has been smashed out for over 2 weeks now and the cabinets have been put up their next to the exposed pipes....what the?? We paid extra for that bulkhead so will definitely be measuring it once it's fixed. Need to call our SS to set up an inspection as well & maybe get more of a date estimate of when we might be able to move in. We've been told November so fingers crossed it hasn't changed . I've added some random build pictures into this post as well since last time I was on my ipad & tonight I'm on my phone so I have access to the gazillion pictures I take each time we visit lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Newport 309 - First home :) 7Oct 20, 2014 8:44 pm aussiebell Would love to see your plans and see what changes you made. We cut the L-shaped bench in the kitchen to make an island & extended the length so it lines up with fridge wall & gives us extra bench space that we would be cutting off on the other side. Upstairs we added WIR near the balcony & bedroom door & decreased the other master WIR to make our bathroom big enough for a bath, extended shower & enclosed toilet. Re: Newport 309 - First home :) 8Oct 21, 2014 1:33 pm Looks great, I didn't know they had a Newport 309, it's not on the website. Looks like a really nice size alfresco area. We are going to be building next year, fairhaven is a front runner so far. Looking at the Newport 361 Re: Newport 309 - First home :) 9Oct 21, 2014 5:19 pm aussiebell Looks great, I didn't know they had a Newport 309, it's not on the website. Looking at the Newport 361 Thanks yeah most people don't know about the 309, we started looking at FH a couple of years ago when we just had our land & at the time they had 245,275.309 & 361. By the time we were ready to build they had taken it out of their books but agreed to still build it same with our balcony facade they have it in previous books but not in the new ones where the prices have doubled on all the others. Hope you do build with them would be great to watch your build. We've had hiccups during the build but am very happy we stayed with them. The 361 is nice & great for the price, lucky they have a display for it as well as we only got to inspect someone else's 275 during their build before we went ahead with choosing to build with FH. Where will you be building ? Re: Newport 309 - First home :) 10Oct 21, 2014 5:21 pm Oh and the alfresco area is great not too big & not too small little area outside the doors & then bigger area for bbq & nice size table, will be great for summer. Definitely go the brick piers if they have them on the 361, as I was set on timber & my partner talked me out of it & I love the brick it looks great Re: Newport 309 - First home :) 11Oct 22, 2014 8:40 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some more house pictures painting looks like it's done apart from the bulkhead. We actually were able to get inside today, don't ask how let's just say it wasn't easy haha. Our wall paint colour is gemini silver, bench tops are luna white, bricks are chestnut & cabinets are strata grey matt. So excited to see some progress again yay! Oh & the door in our master ensuite shower is for the balcony which I'm so happy about as my hubby thought it was going to be just a solid door like what the inside doors in the house. And those stairs are so grand-love them. Aww thanks it is quite big but just the right size when we fill it up with kids later hehe. We were told a couple of months ago that November we would be moving in. So fingers crossed maybe a couple of weeks eeeeeee! So happy it'll be before Christmas! Your building in Berwick right?
