Re: Neighbour's builder storing materials on our land 12Oct 16, 2014 7:00 am Can your builder or admin person call their builder to put pressure on them? I work for a builder in estimating/pre construction, and we occasionally have issues like this. I call the person in my position at the other company and in a couple of days its usually sorted. If that was us, our ss would be calling for extra fencing between sites to protect our property. If all else fails maybe ask the neighbour to speak to their ss. I spoke with someone in their construction department today. More understanding and helpful than Miss Disinterested was the other day. She gave me her name, apologised and told me she was calling the site supervisor immediately to have it rectified. She asked me to give them til tomorrow, just to make the necessary arrangements. I told her that as I have the day off tomorrow, I will go past at midday and check, if it’s not gone by then, I’ll have to arrange for it to be moved as work is starting and it just can’t be there. I also explained that the fences were going up next week as well (its actually the week after, but nevermind!) and that was a joint arrangement with their client, and I would imagine their client wouldn’t be happy about having to delay a job they were paying for because of their own builder holding it up! She did genuinely seem to get it and it didn’t feel like a fob off… Again. I shall wait…. And good idea giving them the false date. Always nice to have some extra time up your sleeve just in case Kristen & Stephen - Built the Eden Brae Drysdale 27 at Oran Park (We're in!!!) Don't forget if that gets done, then we all want to see photos of it. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: Neighbour's builder storing materials on our land 17Oct 16, 2014 5:38 pm Seriously people have no respect for other people's property! We had a neighbour 2 houses down put his boat on our land without asking. Then we had my dad leave a note in his letter box to move it or it would be moved (mind you we wouldn't have been able to move it with just a car as it was too big). After still no movement for about a week, my hubby went straight to his door and told him we were going to be building soon and gave him another 2 weeks to organise to have it moved. Well still after that time it was still there. I called the cops and they said unless it is blocking the driveway to a house there is nothing they can do & told me to contact the council if it wasn't moved a couple of days before the site cut was due. Useless...really no help . So in the end I text him myself & very nicely but with a hint of threat advised him he had been given enough time to move it & if it wasn't moved by that weekend we would contact the cops and have it removed. He then decided to say due to the long weekend it couldn't be moved till the Tuesday...hmmm how conventient. But Tuesday came and what do you know.....it was gone hooray! Lets just say that's a neighbour that won't ne receiving a christmas card from us But moral of the story is stand your ground & if it isn't gone sell it lol Oh and one of our neighbours next door, their buildier left a port a loo, temp fencing(a lot of it) & a skip on our land for months after they had completed the house next door, it was crazy my hubby had to move metres & metres of fencing from the back of the lot to the front just to mow the lawns & the port a loo ended up being in the photo on the front of our soil report lol *rolls eyes* the joys of building in an estate . Let us know how you go good luck! Re: Neighbour's builder storing materials on our land 18Oct 16, 2014 5:43 pm You should have moved his boat to the back of your block then built it in so he would've needed a crane to get it out Re: Neighbour's builder storing materials on our land 19Oct 16, 2014 5:49 pm I'm starting to enjoy this thread just way too much ! Muhahaha!!! That's a fantastic result! Happy you got it sorted out. cheers Simeon 6 8640 in the stormwater pit or the drain? Those dont look like theyd fit in the drain. Separately, the pits do get stuff in them during the course of the build. For the most… 1 7932 Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5645 |
