We are locked up!! The good comes with the bad because we are now locked out and they check all the windows every day (we made sure incase we could sneak in!). The carpenter said he will do all his building (shelves etc) next week and he said the tiler is booked too. Then kitchen guys the week after! Rendered! Obviously still needs painting Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Eaves Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cornices Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front door!!! It's sucky now we are locked out (and we aren't meant to go without our SS there even though we have gone in twice to chat to the carpenter and happened to sticky beak while we were there), but it's great to see it coming together. Our eaves are finished, out downpipes are in, our shelving is half done, our kitchen, bathroom and laundry cupboards are done, our internal doors (except the feature ones that are waiting on particular hinges) are on and our render has been done. The tiles have also been delivered and were meant to be started, but the tiler got called away to another job so we are on the wait list! Our SS was hesitant to give us a timeframe for handover, but said 8 weeks is looking good Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Downpipes Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laundry cupboard shelving Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Walk-in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pantry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tiles!!! It all looks great, and your island is truly massive! Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 211May 15, 2015 1:40 pm Wow! It looks great! And look at the island bench - so much storage! It's awesome! How many weeks since start date are you now? Surely it won't be 8 weeks?! We are really not that far ahead of you and I'm hoping to be in next month! A week after meeting the tiler our tiling has finally started. He had to raise the floor and that took several days to dry! Apparently they can't tile the walls with the vanities until the stone is fitted and no-one seems to know when that might be! I've started packing stuff up in the hope we will be moving soon! I just want it to be finished! Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 212May 15, 2015 5:10 pm Yeah daydream_build, I feel your pain and yours has been more than a year longer than us (all up). Our SS said today that tiling takes a week, then painting takes a week, then flooring takes a week, then finishing stuff takes a week, then cleaning takes a week then fixing stuff takes 1-2 weeks... He said its a minimum of 5 weeks away and that's if there's no dramas. But we are waiting on the tilers to finish their other job... We haven't even had our meeting with them yet. I want to start packing too lol. Nath (my partner) thinks I'm ridiculous, but I just want to DO SOMETHING Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 213May 15, 2015 7:16 pm Both you guys are getting so close! Looking good Cristyandpercy. Have you got a pic of just the dining? Ours was bigger than I thought and even if we'd extended our bench like you have I'm sure there'd still be plenty of room. Fingers crossed the timeline is closer to five weeks than eight! I'll take one on Monday if the tilers call for a meeting. A table will fit easily, I just was imagining more space that's all. I doubt I'll regret that huge bench though Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 215May 15, 2015 7:35 pm That bench is amazing. I'm guessing you or your partner love to cook or bake? It'll be wonderful to have so much space Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 216May 15, 2015 7:39 pm Haha it's a space thing. We have lived in rentals with no storage space for so long we just splurged... Our carpenter said we have more cupboards than he thought was possible hahahaha. We added a triple cupboard to the study as well as made the linen cupboard wider (and took it out of the pantry) as well as the extra kitchen space... So we may have gone a little overboard... But I just hate clutter. The less out for my babies to touch, the less I have to clean before bed.... Right? I got the carpenter to do the extra shelving in the wardrobes so the space is more useable & I can hide away the clutter! Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 218May 19, 2015 4:32 pm So our carpenter has finished up for now (he'll be back to do the decking and fix down the skirting boards properly after the floor goes down in a few weeks). Our feature doors are on, our extensive shelving is complete and our skirting boards are on. The tiler just rang and we are meeting with him early tomorrow to go over our plans and they should start tomorrow!!
