Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 222May 22, 2015 3:51 pm Hey guys, Our meeting with the tiler on Wednesday went well. He just double checked what he had on his plans were what we wanted. He'd hold a tile up and say 'these on the walls of the main bathroom', 'these ones on the floor of the main bathroom' etc. It took about ten minutes and he was lovely. I have found all of the coral tradies fantastic!! A ton of our tiles were broken in delivery and they dropped off the wrong order and while our SS and the tiler were pretty ** off, they were pretty quick to fix it all up and there are more tiles on their way. Our tiler is even upset with the lack of work that he's been able to do (in three days!!) so he and his apprentice are coming in on Sunday!!! He's obviously pretty booked out, but to turn up on a Sunday is a little impressive He said he should be done by late Monday and the benchtops should be delivered Wed/Thurs and then the painters are booked 'late next week'. It's so exciting now everything is happening Main bathroom walls are up Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Main bathroom floor Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Toilet is finished Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laundry complete Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ensuite floor is finished Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 224May 22, 2015 9:24 pm Awesome! Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 227May 30, 2015 10:47 am Not much has happened this week due to various issues with contractors. The tiler had issues with grout and glue not being supplied by beaumont so we haven't seen him since Monday when he did a little grouting. Nothing else happened until Friday when our benchtops were (finally) delivered!! Then we turn up for a sticky beak in the windows today.... And the painters are there about to spray the first coat here's hoping we are back on track now Bench top!! Your pretty much at the same stage as us! Exciting! It's 1600 deep now. We only had a brief look because the painters wanted to start, but we couldn't find a join (which they warned us we might). I saw it on the back of the truck and it looked like one massive piece of ceasarstone Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 231May 30, 2015 5:14 pm And I reckon we are about 2 weeks behind you guys... The painting should only take a week. With ours they sprayed two coats and then they'll be back to roller the third coat once the flooring is in. Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 233May 30, 2015 5:29 pm The length is whatever the standard is, we didn't change it. Ok we're glad the painters will only be a week lol. Because nothing is done while the painters are there is it? Building our first dream home in NSW No I don't think so, not if they're spraying Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 235Jun 13, 2015 12:28 pm Ok our painters have FINALLY returned this week. They still haven't finished (they need to do feature walls, above bricks and at least another coat on the render and door stains). Our garage door was installed, the decking has been delivered to start next week and by the looks (a peak through the garage door hole) like baths and sinks have been delivered! It's a frustratingly slow process but at least we are moving again. We also got our fixings bill... Which means there's only one more payment at the end First coat of render done, waves painted, garage door installed and front door stained Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Close up of our garage door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our classic cream render Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Rich chocolate stained door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stained feature door to the media room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stained feature doors to the bathroom/toilet/laundry and to the master bedroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our terrace white internal walls Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The base coat for the media room. Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 238Jun 16, 2015 5:13 pm Eek so things have started happening this week (thank goodness!) The electricians finished their work, The deck was finished, the plumbers did their work all except the dishwasher and the outdoor kitchen (which needs to wait until staining/flooring), mirror sliding doors (except the study) are done and all taps and toilets and shower heads (except one in the kids bathroom for some reason) are in and splashback has been installed! From my guess, besides those couple of things, we are just needing flooring and painting to finish?! SS said estimated PCI (won't specifically give me a date though) is 'aimed' at 30/6 and then handover 7-10days later I must say, it's so nice to know the end of this crazy, stressful, long road is nearly finished!
