Can't wait to read about your choices there ours isn't until the 11th (Nath works too much haha)... So much waiting!!! Building our first dream home in NSW There does seem to be a lot of waiting! It's a bit frustrating. We signed the contract and paid the 5% deposit at the start of the month. Monday was the earliest we could book in! Like you, we opted for the inspirations package too so hoping we don't spend too much on the day with upgrades. Will let you know how it goes. Will depend what time we get home - it's a 4.5 hour drive and back to work Tuesday : ( Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 28Nov 01, 2014 9:28 am Haha we spend so much money through them, we should be offered a glass of something when we GET to the appointments Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 29Nov 01, 2014 6:31 pm What kitchen and bathroom options did you go for with the inspirations package? Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 30Nov 01, 2014 7:19 pm We went neo modern in the kitchen (but extended the island and swapped the sink for an undermount one coz they're pretty) and the modern cubic bathrooms. What about you? Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 31Nov 01, 2014 7:23 pm We have gone for the global chef kitchen although changed the island bench getting rid of the shelving (dust collectors!) and adding waterfall ends. Went for the organic elegance for the bathrooms Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 32Nov 01, 2014 7:44 pm Cool. Nath wanted that kitchen but it was those island shelves I didn't like too lol. I also wanted the non woodgrain finish in the kitchen and the global chef didn't offer that. Did you go ducted or alfresco? And tile floor or timber laminate? Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 33Nov 01, 2014 9:06 pm We will end up paying more to get a non-wood grain finish. Funny as the brochure lists both woodgrain and non-woodgrain finishes as options but noticed only woodgrain is listed in our contract. We chose the alfresco but got a credit for the kitchen. We will be close to the beach so it will be a pain to keep clean and free of rust! So basically we'll be getting the integrated slab and timber decking. Have opted for laminate flooring as thought we'd try something new. Have previously had polished timbers floors and found they get scratched easily particularly by the dog (and we now have two). Have also had tiles and found the grout hard to keep clean and looking nice particularly in the main thoroughfare. What have you chosen? Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 34Nov 02, 2014 12:47 am Both like you. We have a mate who is an a/c guy and he's putting in some high powered ducted for us so we went for the alfresco with timber decking. We also chose the timber laminate but have been warned the standard stuff is VERY standard and it's worth upgrading (you'll have to let me know after Monday). It's all so exciting Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 35Nov 03, 2014 3:29 pm FYI Premium Ceasarstone range e.g. Pure White is approx $300 per sq metre extra Bathroom & ensuite tile upgrades came in at just over $7k - oopps! We found a nice oak laminate in the standard range so didn't upgrade flooring. Although it doesn't include any underlay so she was going to price that up for me and let me know. Will post some photos later when we get home Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 36Nov 03, 2014 4:39 pm How exciting!! I bet you're exhausted! Can't wait to see your choices Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 37Nov 09, 2014 9:36 am Are you all set for your colour appointment this week? Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 38Nov 09, 2014 12:08 pm Eek I hope so. Tuesday we have clipsal in the morning and colour in the afternoon... So excited. I think I'm going organic white to save on the bench tops. Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral Homes' Daydream 32 in Kurri Kurri NSW 39Nov 09, 2014 1:42 pm Will be a big day! Good choice ; ) Snow was the other one we looked at and I think that was in the same range as organic white Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish.
