Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 13, 2014 1:18 pm Hi Homeone! Just after some casual feedback and I'm aware everyone's 'mileage may vary' etc etc. Would ask my SS except I have attempted to do so in the past so don't want him to think I didn't believe him the first time, but I feel like maybe his estimate was out? So 6 weeks ago (pre-gyprock or anything) he estimated 7 or 8 weeks till handover. Considering that makes it in one or two weeks' time, I'm tipping that estimate is out!? If not I better get cracking on packing! lol At present we have - reached lockup, tiling complete bar the kitchen/laundry splashback, staircase installed, kitchen/laundry cabinetry complete, fixout carpentry complete. I know we are awaiting - garage door delivery, painter Carpet (all upstairs & one downstairs room) and kitchen appliances will be done last I believe. Not sure if plumber/sparky have come/if loos, bathtub etc have been delivered. All that being said & explaining that this has all taken place within the last 6 weeks... Roughly how long do *you* think we have left? I'm guessing maybe there is still 4 or 5 wks work left to do, do you think... Just curious how much warning we'll get for pci & when I can/should start packing etc... Thanks in advance! Cheers all Re: Timeframe after lockup & tiling? 2Oct 13, 2014 1:29 pm I reckon it seems longer now. You can't see the work being done. But - it is time consuming. Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7548 Hi, I'm clearing the tiles from our horrid 50 year old bathroom and preparing to lay new ones. Bugger of a job getting the old… 0 8088 4 14463 |
