Yours is bigger in some areas though as we don't have the main bedroom retreat or walk in pantry but very similar. Looking forward to seeing it take shape & the moved in photos I have been following your thread very closely and its turned out to be super awesome...I can imagine how you would be feeling now to have been able to finally spend some quality time in your dream home... Our build has been progressing quite well so far ... Haven't got a definite handover date yet, but hoping it to be sometime around the start of June... Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 103Apr 30, 2015 10:22 am We had a meeting scheduled with our SS this morning, but due to some emergency situation, he cancelled it at the last minute. It turns out that someone stole the kitchen fittings from another construction site and he had to go there and handle the situation ...
But because we were already at our site, we decided to have a little sneak peak inside ...It didn't look like much had been done during the last 3 days... The scaffolding was hired off, but the roof for the alfresco and garage is not yet in place... The entry door has been installed, decking for the balcony is done and the heating/cooling fittings are partially done... Your house looks great! I found your foyer and living room are very similar whit the Cleo's. By the way what is the flooring of your ground floor, timber or titles? And I see your cooling/heating unit, is it free of charge? Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 105May 01, 2015 2:08 pm Thanks for dran's advise. There are two outside light points of our house, one in front and another one is near the laundry door. I am not sure if it is enough. I found others add a light point on the front wall of the garage and I think they are very smart! Hi Shara, For the ground floor we are planning to lay porcelain tiles after handover...Yeah, Cleo and Harcrest are very similar..The only major differences are the retreat in the Master Bedroom and the WIP... Heating/cooling wasn't free... Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 107May 02, 2015 9:57 pm A few things have been done since our last visit... All the bench tops have been laid and the downpipes have been installed... The tiles have been delivered onsite and the tiling for the wet areas would be commencing next week...Now that the scaffoldings are down, the garage and alfresco roofing and plastering would be done next week... The ground floor is a Cleo design but with kitchen/laundry/powder room upgrade twist and an harcrest alcove but smaller. So my building design type could be called Harcleo.. Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 109May 04, 2015 7:38 am Hi Dran, It looks really good... Do you have your updated floor plan, so that I can get a clearer picture of your redesign... We had changed our ground floor as well- swapped the position of kitchen and family room and also the position of the WIP... Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 110May 04, 2015 9:14 am Hi Harmelb, As requested. Yes I also noticed your upgrade twist as well really nice it just makes it look difference and something you could later say this is your own personal touch. Glad we both added our own touches. Excellent!! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The red line mark in the plan is the path that was all blocked all the way next to the powder room. Harmelb I was going to ask you, what was your brick type because mine is hampstead Tan. Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 113May 04, 2015 12:05 pm Harmelb your house is coming along nicely. Nice long entrance, any plans for it?, cant wait to see more pics. Whats your kitchen colour cupboards?, nice long island bench, i am jelous. Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 114May 04, 2015 12:13 pm dran15 your build is great too. Harcrest and Cleo are two beautifully designed Simonds double story homes, i love that huge and long entrance alongside grandopen living room. Its a standout. I would love to see how everyone is decorating that entrance hallway later on..! Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 115May 04, 2015 2:25 pm Like your kitchen colours Harmelb. Dran - love how you opened up the stairs from entry. That's what I loved about the Cleo! Funny I didn't think about that. What a great idea Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 116May 04, 2015 3:53 pm Hi Dran, It makes sense now, after seeing your floor plan... Brilliant changes... My bricks are "Homestead Blackwood".. It looks very similar to yours, isn't it ? What's the size of your alfresco? It looks quite big... Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 117May 04, 2015 4:11 pm Ru2014 Harmelb your house is coming along nicely. Nice long entrance, any plans for it?, cant wait to see more pics. Whats your kitchen colour cupboards?, nice long island bench, i am jelous. Thanks RU...Haven't finalized anything yet for the entrance - but most probably would go for a beautiful big feature mirror...and then may be a wall artwork/sculpture...Don't want to over clutter this area with too many things...The colour of my kitchen cupboards is "Cavia Lini Matt".... Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 118May 04, 2015 4:14 pm TomCat Like your kitchen colours Harmelb. Dran - love how you opened up the stairs from entry. That's what I loved about the Cleo! Funny I didn't think about that. What a great idea Thanks TomCat.. How are things moving with your Avalon? I wonder why its taking so long for the approvals.. Do you have a site start date yet? Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 119May 04, 2015 9:55 pm Thanks RU and TomCat, it's really an exciting time for us all. Yes RU I plan to have a round designed mirror in the Center between the two wall mounted light features simonds are going to be installing for me as an upgrade(see my electrical plan) and an all glass freestanding table at bottom. Artwork at corners and choice of paintings on the hallway. Just like Harmelb we are also trying to free the hallway as I have young kids that will be running up and down. Yes Tomcat, I really love Cleo design options that's why I choose the cleo upgrade option for my ground floor design and also thought of my kids reason for the stairs opening and free flow around the entire ground floor. Yes harmelb our bricks a very similar and the afresco size is 3500 by 4750 size . We wanted a big Afresco . Tomcat and Ru how are your building going.
