Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 03, 2014 5:31 pm Not a good way to finish a Friday. We are pretty much being held to ransom by our neighbour. He has instructed our fencer that he will not consider the fence quote for another 14 weeks once an allowance has been set by their builder. We have a concreting job (drive way and paths) that can't start till the fence is up, a small dog and a small child to keep in and dirt bags to keep out. We are gutted because in 14 wees they could still say no. Really not sure where to go from here. ......vcat???? They have a turn key package if that makes a difference?
Re: Fencing issues with the neighbour. 2Oct 03, 2014 6:04 pm Vic fencing law doesnt allow your neighbor to behave that way. Look it up, mihht not get it done today butt you have rights too. Re: Fencing issues with the neighbour. 3Oct 03, 2014 6:13 pm Thanks Ponzu, The neighbour lives in NSW, is this likely to have an effect on things other than dragging out proceeding. I am guessing not as the boundary is in Victoria. I an buried in VIC law now. They can not say we will make a decision in an exaggerated time line. I have a similar neighbour they are pains in the a#$ses Re: Fencing issues with the neighbour. 7Oct 03, 2014 7:06 pm Thanks hopeful after the initial disappointment I think we have accepted that this is the likely process we will have to take. What a pain. The fencer is going to send them some legal stuff next week to see if they can get a better response but not hopeful. The letter came from the owners real estate agent and was really poorly written as well. A condition on my property title is that I am not allowed to erect fences on the boundaries with my neighbours. (this is to maintain the open space look) Re: Fencing issues with the neighbour. 9Oct 03, 2014 7:17 pm Beataloo the idea sounds wonderful as I love open space but how are issues such as security and personal space dealt with? We discuss these issues and others over 2 bottles or 3 of wine on Saturday night. Security is dealt with by my neighbours having a key safe with our spare gate and house keys in it and we have a copy of their gate and house keys. Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 30233 I am looking at building a house. Has anyone used Construkt Homes (based in Adelaide)? Does anyone have experience with this builder? 0 6446 12 5316 |
