Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 28, 2014 7:07 am Good Morning Fellow forum members. I am building with the PD , Waldorf 43 with Sterling facade. I have too many issues with the building so far. I don't know the reason if it is because they are rushing to finish the work ahead of schedule, hiring cowboy contractor to cut the cost. Overall quality of work so far is poor and substandard. It lack proper workmanship. The Slab rectification done with the grout that was not specified by the Engineers. Now the major issue I am having with a heavily damaged Girder truss. which has crushed at the birdsmouth. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d44bzdr3prqf2 ... 6.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvpqvwhxd9mxp ... 8.jpg?dl=0 My concerns with overall project is the morality of the PD contractor or installer. Why have they installed damaged product. In my opinion it should be replaced as it is possible to do so in this early stage. If anyone from forum suggest some view about it that will be great. Thank you Northern king. Re: Major Frame issue with PD 3Sep 28, 2014 3:54 pm Hi defeez46waldorf, Do you think you can put the photos in a different format, so we don't have to join dropbox? Sounds as though you might need a structural engineer to call at site and advise you. Or you could try the manufacturer direct so that someone is responsible for it besides the builder who may be reticent to slow down the job. Good luck , Leonardo_23 Re: Major Frame issue with PD 5Sep 28, 2014 5:54 pm I have been finding major structural defects at pre plaster stage when it already should have been identified before frame was approved. Who missed. 1 Framing carpenter 2 Builder's supervisor 3 Building inspector 4 Builder's QA (ha ha what's that?) 5 + a bag of pre plaster defects Clearly mandatory inspection system is misfiring. What else is there you are oblivious to? May be the SS is depending too much on the surveyors report prior to identifying the issue on their own. I am totally in dark. my every effort to get written confirmation has been declined so far. They have made repair work on the main girder truss and so far no confirmation has been provided about the recommendation they have receive to imply such repair work. Now another issue found. Plumber/Drainer gone in pick up tools and gone havoc on the slab to fix the location of drainage. He patched up certain part. Other he dug so deep that the steel is exposed from the slab. I am thinking,do they ever consult anyone prior to do this kind of wreck. Have no idea what to say. Any suggestions please.
