Worse builders, poor communication, tradies seem to do 90% of work and constantly have to come back to finish off. They cut corners wherever they can. And the best thing they do is anything including changing your plan without approval to get your business. They have no respect for the client who is actually paying for the work. Get a building inspector to check they work. Second time building and they are the worse. Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 28Oct 28, 2014 10:53 am alrightdave Hi Mrs Terry, have you had any news back from homestart about the garage? Yes i have actually. Additional cost to increase the garage by 1m to boundary, including boundary wall details is $4282. We are happy about it and went ahead with this. Just good to have an extra room for hubbys stuff to put away instead of a shed. our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 29Oct 28, 2014 12:10 pm Hi MrsTerry, just thought I'd pop into your thread and see how everything was going I'm pretty sure the extra 1m we added to the garage was about the same, then we got charged another $500 to put an external door to the backyard LOL In regards to the aircon, we paid close to $11000 for reverse cycle ducted. We know we probably could have gotten it cheaper if we waited until after handover but we just couldn't be bothered going through all that and wanted a house complete so we could move straight in Have you started looking at tiles etc yet? That is the best part My build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70655&p=1164017#p1164017 Our House is full of magical things patiently waiting for our Home to be built Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 30Oct 28, 2014 1:20 pm Happy that you managed to get what you wanted, Mrs Terry.
