I like your plan, it is very similar to ours . The front elevation is lovely too - I can see another lovely portico - something we don't have and I really wish we've added! We're going to build with RedInk in Yanchep - we're awaiting contracts and draft plans at this stage can't wait. Good luck with your build the people on here are very helpful! Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 4Sep 29, 2014 4:12 pm Hey squidster, following your building now.. Making the garage wider is a good move, I wish that I had found this forum before signing up, so many useful bits of info - I didn't even know that I could have gone with other builders.. Looking forward to seeing your final plans, let's hope that you receive them soon. How big is your block and is is titled? Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 5Sep 29, 2014 4:29 pm Hey alrightdave the land that we got is 465m2 on a corner block. titles are due to be released in November, thats what i was told anyway. I also got in contact with our consultant on friday and she said they will try and do what they can with extending the garage on the plan since i think it hasnt been drawn yet.. How long did it took you to wait until you get your final plans? our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 6Sep 29, 2014 4:38 pm After first signing up for the house we received the final plans about four to five weeks later. Our block was already titled though. Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 7Oct 07, 2014 12:25 pm Love your plan and elevation! I really should have included a portico in my elevation. Will be following your progress First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. I really should have included a portico in my elevation. Will be following your progress Thanks BS12! I love that we have a portico too, it took us quite awhile to decide wether we want it or just put a gable on the roof (trinity's building guideline) but im so glad we got a portico. We sort of have similar floor plans i must say our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 9Oct 07, 2014 10:39 pm Mrs Terry, have you changed your username? Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 10Oct 07, 2014 10:43 pm alrightdave Mrs Terry, have you changed your username? Yes i have sorry if it confused you. Still same page tho our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 11Oct 07, 2014 10:56 pm Does you house come with air con or is this something you will do after you move in? Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 12Oct 07, 2014 11:09 pm Good looking plan!! Haven't really got anything to add except check that your window in your ensuite is centred as the tiles will really show if it is off. If they say it can't be done just make it shorter/longer until it is. your elevation will be different to that photo as your master is longer than the portico? Just checking you don't need to pull your portico posts forward if that is the look you are after? Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 13Oct 07, 2014 11:27 pm alrightdave Does you house come with air con or is this something you will do after you move in? We dont really know to be honest havent gone out to get quotes from other companies. HS had quoted me for a ducted a/c at $5800, do you think thats reasonably cheap? our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 14Oct 07, 2014 11:32 pm xxkatxx Good looking plan!! Thank you kat for the input i have wrote that down on my "concern list" i will definitely pay attention to that windown in particular. our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73578 Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 15Oct 07, 2014 11:34 pm This is just a random thought...would you prefer to have the northern sun on your alfresco and living areas? You could chop the house at the garage and master and flip the back half? Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 16Oct 08, 2014 7:58 am xxkatxx This is just a random thought...would you prefer to have the northern sun on your alfresco and living areas? You could chop the house at the garage and master and flip the back half? Good point - I didn't notice the orientation before. We changed our back of the house around to get more northern exposure in winter. I was worried that it would make it too hot in summer, but I'm hoping things like sails etc could deal with that Also the sun will be mostly overhead, and to the west rather than north in summer (I think?). Re: Our first build with Homestart in Alkimos WA 17Oct 08, 2014 2:48 pm MrsTerry Thanks BS12!
