Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 26, 2014 11:09 am I am sending off our house plans for a quote from Luxaflex. I visited a showroom yesterday and have an idea of the blinds I want. They are the dual rollers with the box top. We need to go with blinds as our cats will pretty much wreck anything else. They will only ever go down to cat height lol. For the back windows we would like the blinds joined up to roll together and for them to be automatic. The main thing is keeping the house cool. We already have veridian glass but it will get a lot of sun. Has anyone got rollers from them? How was the install and are you happy with the finished product? We have a lot of windows so it will be $$. I am a bit scared to see just how much. Re: Luxaflex blinds - any thoughts? 2Sep 26, 2014 3:06 pm They are great, but incredibly expensive for what they are. We've had ours for maybe 10 years now and they're probably just starting to look a bit ratty (pesky dog sticks his head through the side to bark) and they are pure white :/ (bad choice) I think you'll fall over when you get the quote back, but shop around and work them for a better price. Id say they're definitely worth it for the amount of time they last Re: Luxaflex blinds - any thoughts? 3Sep 26, 2014 3:59 pm We were quoted about $18k for Luxaflex blinds on 6 windows. Some combo of Ikea & Bunnings are likely to get our business ... my better half doesn't even want any sort of curtains (she can sleep through ANYTHING, regardless of how many sunlights are pouring through the window at stupid-early AM in summer). Re: Luxaflex blinds - any thoughts? 5Sep 27, 2014 4:44 pm Eeek! We have six sliding door sized windows across the back not including the smaller ones LOL. Looks like it will be BIG $$. It's fine. We don't mind paying to get the ones we want but only if they are worth it quality wise. I was thinking white but maybe not now though?
