How exciting to start the process, we can't wait till we get to started. Hopefully it's all smooth sailing for you. Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 3Sep 30, 2014 9:33 pm Hi Dextel, We are neighbours! Quick question - do you recall how long it took for Watercorp to install a tap and the whole estate to be electrified by Western Power or was all that in and done when you bought your block? now that I think about it, I guess a block has to have power and water ready to use/connect to once titles are issued so its sellable? Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 5Oct 08, 2014 2:44 pm Hello neighbors Unfortunately I am working away so I don't have a chance to follow the building progress and to be there every day. I had a little issue with the builder but it's all sorted now. They didn't put in the contract installation of soakwells, I realized that recently but Dreamstart homes agreed to install them without extra variations fee ($350 for any extra work after prestart) so good on you Dreamstart! IvyC - Are you building on lot446? Did they started yet with the brick works? Beazley77 - everything went nice and smooth with Eliza ponds from the moment I purchased the land. They had everything done (underground services eg water, gas, power etc) before titles were issued. Are you still waiting for the titles to be issued? Roscoes - good spot, right next to the town center. Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 6Oct 08, 2014 2:59 pm Hi Dextel Still waiting on titles. They are with LAndgate so hopefully not faaaarrrr away... All the common utilities infrastrcuture is all there under the road which is cool but I was wondering about when the Watercorp tap turned up. But now i understand that comes after the builder applies for the build aproval from WaterCorp so it'll turn up in due course I've done prestart round 1, but didn't quite get through my tweaks and changes so i'm going back next week to sign contract and wind that up. Then I wait...some more.... I'm just lucky i didn't put a deposit on my land until June. Some people bought in Ocean Road Estate 2 years ago. I'd have given up by now if id had to wait that long! Hi Dextel, if you would like, I can take progress pics while you are away? Just PM your email address and lot number. I live very close by. Yes We are at 446. No bricks for us yet. Hopefully not too long. Got an email today from Dreamstart. Apparently I need to pay an extra $1200 for a concrete pump because the sand is too soft for the truck and the truck is getting bogged. Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 9Oct 11, 2014 5:55 pm Hmmm that's a pain, our builder used a concrete pump but we were not charged extra. Ill PM you about getting pics. What's the latest update Dexter? I'm building with DS too, up in Yanchep though. We're only at site works stage, slab is going down this week apparently. Keen to know how your build is progressing. Good luck! We did last friday - not sure how we get the keys to our letter box though! Streetview quality us getting better and better. Judging by the sign on our block it had to be after July 5. Unfortunately we are not quite ready to build. I love that you have called it the sardine. We are building two storey to maximise the sardine space. Are you single level or two? Maybe Fred would be the best person to contact about keys. Glad they ended up sticking the house number tiles on more securely, ours was on the floor when we came a few months ago Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 16Nov 24, 2014 10:45 am We are going single storey - I am a bit worried we will be the only single storey in that row of five - despite Fred initially suggesting that most people he had spoken to were going single..oh well, too late now. Not ready yet - we are the opposite! We already have a building permit so might even get concrete for christmas. In other news -something popped up in the estate over the weekend: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Small footprint in Eliza Ponds, Spearwood WA Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 17Dec 02, 2014 10:01 pm Hi everyone Thanks IvyC for keeping me updated with the current photos of the building process. Building with Dreamstart is not that bad. It always could be worst! IvyC's builder delivered bricks a month ago and they haven't started yet (don't want to be mean). Some other started building after Dreamstart started with my home and they almost finished. So, all in all is good, stress free at least. btw looking forward to purchase another block in the neighborhood, depends of size and price Re: Eliza Ponds - Spearwood WA 18Dec 02, 2014 10:12 pm dextel Thanks IvyC for keeping me updated with the current photos of the building process. No worries, you've had really steady progress! Yep we're 11 weeks since slab, but we're advised today (and I tend to believe it this time) that we're getting some action starting Friday so fingers crossed. Our next door neighbours (have not met them) are at lock-up. It's a hive of activity over there at the moment. Would be great if there are some public BBQs provided - as I can't see any in the ponds portion..although probably not a view shared by those living right next to where the bbq smoke will go! We have had steel delivered for our slab - footing where scheduled for today but there has been no prelay or trenches dug - so I daresay we will be behind on that. Not to worry, with no brickies 'till next year there is no rush really. Small footprint in Eliza Ponds, Spearwood WA |
