Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 24, 2014 1:26 am Hi guys, We have recently decided to build a modified version of the Entertainer with Dechellis in Adelaide (our first home) . Just wonder if anyone has recently built with them can give me a list of their selection places that they will send us to for our selection later on. My wife and I have visited most of the displayed homes of theirs in Adelaide and we are quite happy with the quality of their work. However we are a bit concerned that they seem to build their displayed home to quite a high standard compared to what we are actually gonna have (even though the sale guy tried to convince us that the quality that we are building which is grande is quite good). Hence I really want to go to those selection places to see what exactly the quality we gonna get. Also any advice and help will be much appreciated guys. Cheers, Re: Building a modified Entertainer with Dechellis 2Oct 03, 2014 2:58 pm Hi, Congratulations on picking a builder!! Very exciting! We are building with a dechellis at the moment (check out our thread Building in SA with Dechellis). At the time of our selections, these were available: Italia Ceramics - tiles PGH bricks APBC plumbing - bathroom accessories, built in robes (via Regency robes), kitchen sink/taps, hot water systems etc Direct Interiors - door handles, appliances etc Laminex for bench tops and cupboards Gliderol garage doors A&L windows Some other stuff is picked at the final selections meeting at their head office e.g paint colours etc but you'll need to ask them for a list of colours included in your package in advance so you can go in prepared to make the decisions on the day. We also chose to do some of our things separately eg air conditioning and floating floors. The display homes are impressive, from what we've seen they are all upgraded versions of their Grande package (you would've been asked to choose the standard or Grande package). But there are definitely more upgrades in the display homes than there are included in even the Grande package. Keep in mind that there are some hidden upgrades too, eg if you pay for a essastone kitchen bench upgrade, it's only 20mm and only includes some colours from the range. If you want a different colour or 40mm slab this is extra too. This is the same with every builder I am aware of though, not just with Dechellis. The quality of the build looked good, which is partly why we settled on dechellis. Good luck with you build, ask us if you have any questions. I’m curious about how you went with this. We are planning a KDRB and considering Plantation Homes as a builder. I’m aware that after the demolition another soil test… 1 6326 i wouldn't be worried, you'll definitely miss something, no matter how many times you review. we've spent close to 5 months ensuring everything got reflected in the… 5 9453 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 11731 |
