Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 19, 2014 2:20 pm I just got an email from my consultant saying that they are unable to give us the Laminex Licorice Linea Silk finish due to manufacturing issues but have suggested Polytec Cavia Lini Sheen Finish. The colours look very similar to me, but I was wondering what are the difference between Laminex and Polytec? Is one better than the other? Or are they kinda the same? My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Polytec vs Laminex 2Sep 19, 2014 2:43 pm I cant help with which one is better than which, just that I have Polytec Cavia Lini Sheen finish in my new kitchen and I absolutely love it... I think it is slightly more grey/black than the Licorice Linea, but I could be wrong... Supposedly a national shortage.... They have suggested we choose Laminex Espresso Ligna in the silk finish. They are fairly similar, but the Espresso is slightly more brown than the Licorice Linea. As deluxes mentioned, the Polytec Cavia Lini is slightly more grey. So it is whether you want go for a more of a brown tone, or more of a grey tone...... Good luck! Interested in getting either the Polytec Boston Oak or Palace Peak for kitchen cabinets. Looking at the Boston Oak ones, it appears that the colour varies significantly… 0 9174 Hi brains trust, We had Essastone Unique Calacatta specificed for our bench tops.
