Tomcat and MNT they might be fine at your places, we had them at our old place and we had really cold winter nights of less than 6 and ours were fine. I think the frost might be what kills them??? You could always try them. They do how ever get massive and spread.

We get big frosts over winter, this year we had several mornings of around minus 6-7 so may be a problem
Getting into the Christmas spirit! Last house was only 15m frontage and usually have enough to do the roof lines as well, ran out this year so I will have to get more lights read for next year.

iPhone doesn't do them justice most just look like blobs in the Windows lol

Fantastic! Lucky kids
Now have about 99% lawn coverage. Very happy with how this has progressed over the past 6 months

What a beautiful lawn mr bee, take a bow it's bowling pitch perfect. How's everything else coming along? Any more internal decorating progress?

Not really we still have study and bedrooms to finish with art etc the kids retreat I think we will tackle next.

Have been a bit lazy lately but will get back into landscape when it cools down.

My main priority at the moment is cleaning And organising my shed to get rid of all the junk we didn't put in new house from old.

Next major project is front fence so hoping to start that soon just have to decide on the style of panels we want and how much block work we want to do thinking will be a mixture of rendered block work with majority black fence panels and Merbau wood posts
I'm a bit the same mr bee, I've still got rooms to do but I'm thinking hard about them before I jump in. The kids retreat will be fun, Mrs bee will have a ball.

I don't blame you landscaping in this heat is woeful.

Mr t keeps saying that about our garage, might be a good weekend for lots of tip runs?

Ohh I will be interested to see what you do with your fence, the block work and render sound great, will you do it yourselves? The black panels will off set it so nicely.

Love the cubby houses. It's a shame mine are too old for those now. I'll have to wait for grandkids haha

Grass is looking awesome!

Did a bit of an Easter project and did one of the side fences.

I bought everything from Bunnings and masters as they were both the cheapest and compatible in prices what one didn't have in stock the other did.

I decided to use T4 treated pine 100x100 posts for $6.25 per meter over the merbau which was $35 per meter I couldn't justify the escalation in cost for the look.

Unfortunately they only sold either 975mm wide gates for pedestrian access or using 2x 1475mm for car access.

I wasn't really happy with restriction my side access so I mounted the car gates by bolting removable brackets to concrete footings so if I ever need to I can unbolt and remove the infill each side for a good 6m access.

Took a few hours the first day to do the concrete footings and prep then almost a full 2nd day including digging holes prepping posts and installation.

I'm pretty happy with the outcome I didn't want to block it in with a solid fence but did want a bit of security as well as keep the kids in and any loose neighbouring dogs out.

Hi all, it's been a while.. we have come about 80% with how we want the inside to be and about 50% with the outside... it's been almost a year since we have moved in and we are LOVING living here!

Above are some recent pics with a bit of furniture however still more we want to get and alot more artwork as well!!!
As I said above we have been in almost a year now and have landscaped a little along the way mainly to make sure we have grass coverage and to start establishing some hedges, we have limited what we have done so far as we had always planned to do a pool and didn't want to redo landscaping later on...

We have now decided to do the POOL! so i will be updating this over the coming months with our pool building journey!

At this stage we are in the early stages of getting quotes from pool builders and are starting to receive them back...

Initial Plans are:

8m x 4.5m Concrete Magnesium/Mineral Pool
Travertine Coping
Pebble Interior
Feature Wall with Water Blade style Waterfall
Finished with frame less glass fence across the front and black flatop aluminum fence across the sides and back.

View to the future:
Concrete around the pool and extend the Travertine right around the pool area
Add decking to one side and construct a Bali/Pool House style entertaining area
tropical gardens throught the pool area

I however will initially have to do a retaining wall out from my alfresco before we can start so that will happen first with stairs leading up to the pool area, as a super long term plan the alfresco will be tiled in Travertine which will continue up the stairs and into the pool area linking the pool and house to look more uniform ...

So thats the plan
I will update regularly and with plenty of pics! Happy to answer any questions as we go as well!

WISH US LUCK!

What a beautiful home you have created for your family. Looking forward to seeing the next stages.
Good luck!
WoH
