I've pinned the muscari too as something to consider for the garden (I was sure I'd read on here somewhere that rendered planter boxes should be waterproofed or it may make the render / paint go mouldy / come off? Found this link viewtopic.php?f=17&t=61454&p=1134230&hilit=render+planter+waterproof#p1134230 ) You should change your thread title - you no longer have 2 letterboxes! I've done an undercoat and one coat of house colour (to half of it anyway). I liked your side gate. May I ask how did you build it? We need a side gate like this. Re: Yanchep WA Build with Dreamstart (DUAL LETTERBOXES HAHAH 544Aug 16, 2015 3:49 pm Geez you crack me up Em! Just dropped in for some entertainment! ! Hehehe!! Sorry i missed your question about the Orange Jessamine- i would say it grows reasonably quickly. Not crazy fast but you should be happy i think! Loving your choice of plants' they will look stunning together. I had a metre strip of snow in summer along the driveway in my last house in a raised garden bed. It grew down the retaining wall and when it flowered was a real show stopper! Behind it was a row of green grass like plants with purple flowes and behind that a row of prolific flowering pink roses. Love those colours together. Had scheme water then. Well done to your handy hubby btw! Your planter box looks so good! Your garden sounds gorg Rache! I love pink but have to stay away from it out the front or I just know my paint will start looking pinkish to me which will drive me nuts. Boring whites, blues and green foliage only, so hibiscus has to go out the back or those purple leaves will have the same effect on the render colour. I'm a bit funny about my colours. Did I ever tell you about the time my parents copied what was in vogue in the early 90's and our WHOLE HOUSE was painted pink inside (including the ceiling) with dark grey skirting? I absolutely HATE pink paint now. Sends shivers down my spine. I feel sick just thinking about it..... I too am looking for a cheap alternative for our side until we can afford to get what we want. Am assuming a couple of cemented in posts on either end and bob's your uncle? It's only for a couple of months and then will need something to withstand the coastside living.
