Building our first dream home in NSW Don't have any photos of the carpet but we upgraded to the silver range, thought that was a good enough upgrade and are very happy with the carpet. Standard range just wasn't going to cut it, nor the bronze range. And to upgrade four bedrooms and a study was roughly how much? I've heard the timber look flooring (also what we chose) is fairly ******* too, did you see that stuff too? I'm starting to think it might be worth the $100 variation fee to change to tiles to save $$ on upgrading later Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral homes daydream 30 at Logan Village 45Oct 20, 2014 8:04 pm Cristyandpercy1 Ok cool. We went along for an open day at Coral before our final choices meeting and that was a big help, we could check everything out and have time to decide what we really wanted. We did that the week before our final. It was well worth taking the time to do it. At the end of the day you have to be happy with what you choose. We don't have one in NSW, only a tiny little building apparently (haven't seen it myself). I'm tempted to do a day trip up to QLD to have a decent look around. Floors have me pretty worried since carpet calls standard stuff has a bad reputation. That's not a bad price for 6 rooms. Thanks Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral homes daydream 30 at Logan Village 47Oct 21, 2014 7:54 pm Cristyandpercy1 So true. That's the coral place in QLD hey. Thanks Building our first dream home in NSW Sorry forgot that coral display was only in Qld, If you do come up make sure you check with them as they are only open 2 days a month I think, on Fridays and you have to make a booking. They are on the gold coast so you could make a weekend out of it. Or just go with your instincts on the flooring. So have all the locks on the doors, so we are now all locked up, woohoo. This build is just powering on, can't believe how far we have come in such a short time. Inside they have put in all our shelving, now it's starting to look as though we could move in and actually be living here. Oh my goodness, I feel giddy! I can't WAIT to have a pantry that size The rest of the house looks FABULOUS as well, but the pantry is giving me heart palpitations! Can you tell I am the mother of three boys who eat like horses? Have Coral given you a key? What stage did you get that? We have a massive window there right now, but I like the look of your two smaller windows - although the amount of light worries me as our alfresco is bigger than yours... We won't have time to get up there before our colour app, so instinct it is Love your front door!! Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral homes daydream 30 at Logan Village 54Oct 22, 2014 1:17 pm I like your idea of putting them in the shower for sure. I wasn't keen for them in my kitchen, but that's a personal aesthetic thing for me. Are they particularly expensive? Have Coral given you a key? What stage did you get that? Yep that's the pantry, not a great pic but it is one of the things we really liked about this design. We do have a key, our SS gave it to us at our very first meeting. So good that Coral does that so you can keep up with the build as it progresses. We changed these windows in the master, we didn't want the huge window in the there so we changed them to the 2 double hangers, they give really good airflow and give us wall space on the inside and in the alfresco. We are putting the AC unit on the inside between the windows and a tv in the alfresco between them. Looking at them now that they are in they give us plenty of light for a bedroom, very happy with them. I'm 50/50 at the moment and I have to sent my variation back. Julie mmmm I'm a bit like you, probably 50/50, suppose it would depend on the cost. I'm 50/50 at the moment and I have to sent my variation back. Julie I think it is a nice classy touch. I'm pretty sure I asked for this in our tender but it never was included... hmm will have to follow up on that! Thanks for the reminder Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4343 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74702 |
